79 Jun 19 Reply Thanks Judith. As you can see i adhered to the entry suggestion by not submitting a winning image, lol.
I came across the house in Golega in Portugal , and i recall an old lead pipe in that recess on the lower right.
I would have loved to see behind the doors but every gap was filled with old stone and rubble .

79 Jun 19 Comment Hi Marie,
This image has a gorgeous soft dreamy feel to it.
Also theres a lovely texture visible that suits the flower and muted colours.

79 Jun 19 Comment Brilliant angles here, as well as lighting and colours.
I find the bright colour of the person distracting , i can really enjoy the image without him, or even perhaps tone his outfit down.

79 Jun 19 Comment Hi Judith,
A strong image that forces our eyes to question the 2 dark images.
It is very interesting ,
however i find the central yellow too bright .
I would tone down the yellow and in its centre to the right is a dark area that i would darken, it would then hold our eyes to 3 aspects, in a slightly triangular shape, and re-inforce the already suggstion of a secret passage.
All in relation to the seeing eye, lovely .

79 Jun 19 Comment Hi Mary ,
Very mystical image with gorgeous colours .
I would remove the wires and the pole behind the gate.
My minds eye sees mist /fog , perhaps some black crows amid the tree and the faint image of a rickety old cottage roof in the distance far away.
Saying that its a beautiful image as it is .

79 Jun 19 Reply Words of wisdom Karl.
I am always learning something , if it works and also if it doesn't ,
as well as happily discovering the tools of the trade.
I also enjoy the views of others and what you have achieved with my image is great, so thank you for sharing the method.
I feel the base is now in need of darkening and then i will have a more pleasing image.

79 Jun 19 Comment Thanks for your suggestions and comments Valerie.
I agree , it does look like just another over-exposed image.
I am going to go back to the raw file original.
I do like the door and handles, i also like your idea to retain the detail in these and fade out to a high key.
Its great to have such feedback.

79 Jun 19 Comment Thank you Marie.
Your imagination is captivating , i enjoyed reading your critique.
This photo was of a terraced house fallen into disrepair, decayed walls and rotten roof .
You are quite right about the Ivy , the shadows have not responded well.
