Hi Sue,
You have indeed captured the judges intensity ,and retained a lot of good detail, such as in the moustache and hair.
I enjoy the effect you have used but i feel the effect is overpowering, and has created a dark diagonal line from shirt collar across chest, to his left arm
Have you thought of using the original with your artistic editing layered on top but diluted ,in CS6 go to Layers Palette, Blend Mode, alongside is opacity slider.
and perhaps mask the artistic layer, using a black brush at reduced opacity to erase some of the artwork from his eyes and that dark line. This is a lovely portrait. |

Hi Judith,
I am of a similar opinion from Valerie , in that i want to turn my head to view it, EXCEPT that i like the stray hair and the jacket cords.
I know you said its your shadow, well done as it has
my imagination set along thoughts of Dementia or mental illness, in its Art form its a strong evocative image that i feel would be a fantastic advert. |

Hi Karl,
An interesting colourful rendition of the landscape, however to me it creates visions and stories that come from viewing it.
It reminds me of my grandsons toy " Tracey Island " from the Thunderbirds series.
Your work always gets my mental juices flowing , thoroughly enjoyable.I am looking forward to next months. |

Hi Valerie,
Thanks for your valid comments , spot on, and i fully agree (now that you pointed it out ) that the length of missing rein does give that impression. If anything ,i thought some comments would include the dark streak on the right side of the image.
Isn't it strange how these things stare us in the face but we are blind until someone points it out.
That's the advantage of being part of this group.I can endevour to correct it now, thanks again. |

Hi Marie,
I really enjoy this image, so fresh and modern , pleasing textures and colours and a super pose that conveys closeness and friendship.
I wonder if you could bring out the models hand (left model ...left hand ) the arm in focus makes me search for the other arm, and i can see her other hand so if that were made more visible it would be a better balance . Perhaps cropping off some of the top would bring us in closer to your gorgeous models and aslo bring her other hand into view ? Just a thought.
An admirable image that i'd expect to see in a magazine. Lovely. |
