I took my dragonfly image and sharpened it in Photoshop using the Smart Sharpen filter so that it would show details better in a small jpeg format.

Thank you all for your very constructive and helpful comments. After seeing the comments that the face looked a little soft I went back and looked at my RAW file and the head and eyes are quite sharp in the RAW file. |

This is quite an unusual and amazing subject. So very impressive. I never did find Waldo- the miner in the upper right hand corner. I looked at every salt mine and could not find that miner. I love the textures, shapes, and the colors in this image, they play off of each other very well together.
In considering crops, I like what Walter proposed above ^ with regard to cropping out the mountain.

This is a nice image and capture of a beefly gathering pollen. The tighter crop does the image better justice.
Additionally, with the tighter crop I can better see the loose pollen flying around which I find attractive. I love the colors and the image seems sharp. |
