I think there is not much that hasn't already been said above. There is very little here to improve on.
I love the blue sky background against the bird.
Nice work. |

Kerry, when I look at your image (both now and many times in the past) I love the sense of feeling that you are able to convey through your photography. I feel like I am riding with an Australian cowboy. It's wonderful.
In this image you have very clear communication between the sheep and the dogs.
I like what you did with the dehazing, however, I think Walter has really given a much better version above.
The one thing that I see, perhaps no one else does, is that the floor, or ground, does not seem to be level. Perhaps it is just my eyes.
Great job.

Janice, I agree with everything that has been said before.
The image is nicely composed. I specifically like the way the stream leads the viewer through the image. The cloud formation is quite dramatic as well. Nice capture. |

David, the image has strong lines. I really like the additional colors that were brought out through the Topaz Adjust. It is very striking!
The one thing that I miss from the original image is the detail in the foreground- specifically the trees. For me, if you could add that back in, it would make it a stronger image. |

Walter I think you have achieved your stated goal and have done a magnificent job in capturing the Cicada's patterns and colors.
Ihe image is tack sharp and the colors and patterns of greens, and browns really pop. They are quite vibrant.
It is also interesting to see through the wings which look onto the wood and give it an "opaque" look.
Nice.

I reworked the image and hopefully it is better and more in focus. I obtained a 30 day trial of Topaz AI which has a focus corrector, sharpenner, and shake corrector. Then I tried to adjust the background for the extreme brightness.

Thank you for your comments Janice. No, I was not on a tripod. I saw the bird and ran for my camera. I'm wondering, I have heard people who have Topaz plug-in say that they can adjust focus a bit. I don't have Topaz so I don't know if it would work.
