I think it would be wonderful to see this in person! I agree with Harry's assessment with cropping out the sky since there isn't much of interest there. The cropping on the left also places the castle more on the rule of thirds. It's getting late and my eyes may be playing tricks on me, but it seems that the castle is leaning a little bit to the left (?). There is also something blue in the sky between the castle and bridge that I might try to clone out. But what a great opportunity to see and photograph such an amazing place! |

This is a photo I'm sure you will treasure for years to come! I love the pink in her cheeks and the pink of the tree in the background. I like the cropping of her face that gives the suggestion there is more just outside the frame. It keeps my attention. The wisps of hair are perfect against her skin and the background and actually frame her face. Cropping the hand is a tough one. It would be interesting to see how it looks with more of her hand included. I'm wondering what the orange is in the tree just to the left of the daffodil stem. It doesn't seem to go with the pink tree so I might try cloning it out. But overall, a very sweet picture! |

I find this image very calm and serene. The blues all work together well, and the photo is realistic and not overly processed. The pano look makes me want to see what else is there! |

This is a beautiful image. I love the bokeh, and the pink thistle against the green background works well as opposites on the color wheel. The butterfly is perfectly positioned in the image (great rule of thirds). The only thing I might have done is very slightly darken the butterfly's body and the top of the wings. But it definitely is a winning image. |

This is a gorgeous image! The black and white works really well and creating a silhouette of the people and darkening the image below that makes the Taj just pop. This image would do well in competition. You handled it in a very creative way, turning the photo into a work of art. |

Piers, This is a beautiful bird that struck a nice pose for you. It's crest and tail are very interesting. There must be some advantage for those extra long tail feathers.
Bird photography is my main emphasis too. I also struggle with branches that get in the way, and it's always great to eliminate them if possible. The 2 branches that the bird is standing on look a bit soft on the ends so that's one thing I would change. But this bird was quite a catch! |

Harry, Thanks for your thoughts on my image. I was totally amazed when I found these. I agree that more needs to be done to eliminate elements that detract from the mushrooms. |

Hi Brenda, I struggled with keeping the mushroom out of the center of the photo. I agree that the leaves on the left are a problem and perhaps I should either crop the entire photo or apply more vignette as Harry suggested. Thanks for your thoughts! |

Hi Shirley, Thanks for the welcome and your comments. I agree and wondered if I shouldn't have pulled the leaf out of the log. ;-) I did darken the leaves on the left side but they could be darker. I like to enter photos in my camera club's competitions after I've had them in my PSA group because I always get lots of helpful comments! |
