34 Sep 23 Comment Simple but effective. A classic image with good lines and well balanced light and color. Sep 1st
34 Sep 23 Comment I like the concept of the journey to the book. I think the clouds could be less transparent over the book, and they have too much contrast in the opaque areas. I think the book crowds the edge a bit, and would be just as effective if it was smaller in the image. Also the book seems to be immersed in the landscape, almost as though the land was liquid. 34 Sep 23 Comment This is a great triptych. It would make an interesting lenticular flip image. It is creative, but I agree, it isn't altered reality. Sep 1st
34 Sep 23 Comment Your arrangement has good leading lines, and the colors are well balanced. The textures are stunning. I do think it could be brighter, but that's just my personal preference. Sep 1st
34 Sep 23 Comment Great composite! The light and textures are consistent and interesting. I love the pareidolia of the cars. The cat and bird are well placed, but I think the bird has a bit too much contrast. After reading your description, I had to go back and look for the grackle. It seems to get lost, but that doesn't detract from the image. Sep 1st
34 Sep 23 Comment Great symmetry and texture. I think the face could have been more vibrantly blended using a diffused layer mask instead of transparency. Sep 1st

68 Sep 23 Reply Here is one of my father's spirit masks, similar to the ones in your image... Sep 23rd
68 Sep 23 Reply A small edit at the top would fix it. Sep 22nd
68 Sep 23 Comment Another nice phantogram. The straight on angle of the pistils hides some of the depth. Also the darkness in the foreground flowers clashes with the brightness of the white frame and background. You could reduce contrast and increase saturation, or stack multiple exposures to increase dynamic range. Sep 10th
68 Sep 23 Comment Lots of interest and color in this image. You've captured the story with good depth. The focus is a bit soft, but adequate. I think you could bring out more of the color from the twilight in photoshop or SPM. Sep 10th
68 Sep 23 Comment Very nice! Good color and contrast despite the haze. Good depth across the image. It tells just enough of the story to leave me wanting more.
I've wanted to go to the steam-up for years, but the timing has never worked out. I love the old forged and cast machines. It's amazing that they were built so well they can still run today. Today's machines only run until the last firmware update.

68 Sep 23 Comment This is excellent. I love the colors. The depth is simple but striking. The composition is classic minimalism, although a bit busy at the bottom edge. Well done! Sep 6th
68 Sep 23 Comment A great image that tells an important story. I wish there was more parallax. I can barely see any depth at all beyond the window offset. The shadow on the left is a bit distracting. It pulls my eye to the edge, only to point back at the subject. Sep 1st
68 Sep 23 Comment Excellent stereo through the whole image. There seems to be a minimal window violation at the top edge, and there is an anomaly where a window or reflection is visible in the right image, but not in the left. This could easily be cloned out. Also, the dynamic range could be increased by raising the gamma level in SPM, or using curves in photoshop or gimp. I absolutely love the spirit masks protecting the doorway Sep 1st
