Beautiful. A lot of great work went into this. My only suggestion is that the repetition in the sticks made me see the repetition in the horizon. As others have suggested, maybe some cut and paste, or reversals could add randomness. |

A nice composite. The haze is a bit uneven to my eye, and the loss of detail in the deer's legs is unfortunate. I like your original #2 as it was. |

Abstract photos occur where we find them.
If you simply copy an abstract work in a gallery, that isn't really in the spirit of AR.
However, if you were to shoot an abstract work from an obtuse angle, through a diffusive or refractive surface, apply unusual lighting, and or add reflections or other environmental elements, then it becomes arguably your work (although obviously still derivative). Although the shirt had an abstract pattern, I did not simply copy it. I positioned the shirt, and used light and camera movement to create a video image, which I extracted as the original for this project.
Don't apologize for your participation! The more discussion we engage in, the better the group is! |

I didn't immediately recognize the barn as an apple, and wondered why a barn was absent from your originals. The only place that isn't convincing to me is the pumpkin seed walkway. The perspective of the seeds looks wrong, and the added shadows are a bit obvious. Otherwise, a splendid arrangement! |

I like the way you've inverted the colors of the original. It gives the image more continuity and allows more contrast between the acrobats and the apparatus. |

Beautiful. My only suggestion would be to try rotating the original a bit so the wave pattern is closer matched to the implied direction of movement. |

This is great! I love your use of colorful fog, and the light to dark vertical gradient. I like it better without the added transparency. The ripples in the 'water' are a bit subtle compared to the rest of the image. Also, the horizon seems a bit tilted, which is accentuated by the isolation of the lighthouse on the left. |

The two originals (my eye, and the video capture of an abstract shirt pattern) both conform to the PSA definition of 'reality', and both originated from a camera. The fact you did not recognize the reality, proves it's altered nature.
Abstracts are both personal and universal. Their purpose is to induce a reaction. Any reaction. Confusion is an honest (and common) reaction to things we don't recognize. Thank you for your honesty.

I had a color palate in mind, and I knew I would insert myself in some way. I used the blend modes to get close, then used hue/saturation to fine tune it. The hardest part was getting the eye to match the color palate. |

Amazing what a couple of tiny washers can do for that lens. Great detail and depth. Good work! |

Very nice. I might have boosted the color saturation, but that's just my taste. It works well as it is. |

I love the lighting of this. Especially the black infinity. |

Excellent composition with depth al the way to the back, and great leading lines. The ghost reflections really add to the ghostliness. |

Here is a half color anaglyph. |

It should be a Dubois, or at least half color anaglyph to even the colors out. This is a standard color anaglyph, which is indeed hard to look at. |

I love this. VR180 is one of the best new developments in 3d. The subject is well suited to the fish eye distortion. |

This is very well done. I do see a slight disparity where his pants meet the top edge of the base, and I don't see the reflection of his shoes. But unless you're looking for it, most people won't notice something that small. Very nice! |
