As stated above: with filters, less is often more. Another idea would be to separate the train to a new layer, and use different levels of posterization on the two layers to bring out contrast between the train and the background. |

This image was immediately inspiring to me. Similarly to Joan, my first thought was 'this should be in 3D'. My mind is now full of ideas for a new project. Thanks!
P.S. I prefer the un-cropped original. |

I love this kind of drip/splash image, and this is an excellent example. The soft richness of the bright colors with the bold contrast of the dark background, is very engaging. |

Are we critiquing the photo? Or are we critiquing the creativity?
It's an interesting image either way.
Your use of stock images as part of the creative process contributes to the image itself, but detracts from the creativity of your process. I see it as appropriate considering your acknowledgement of the stock elements, although I would prefer more attribution. It also doesn't have the same creative impact it would if all the elements were your own work. You are clearly capable of capturing usable images of your own. |

I like the original best. To my eye it seems dreamlike, while the others seem more cartoonish. |

Years ago, I took pictures of my cat Avalon using projected slides as the light source, with a similar result. I left the focus of the slides to chance so some parts were more sharp than others, and used a focusing Mag-light to accent her face. I love the colors and luminance of your final image. Mine were more contrasty. |

I apologize for the short description. I was in a hurry to get it posted in time. Mirror Lab is a photo manipulation app. I use it on my android phone. The photo was part of a sequence taken with my Samsung S7. The filter I used was just simple mirroring. Mirror lab has many other filters, from basic doubling to kaleidoscopes and fractals. I was able to adjust the center to make the orb in the window and the 'center' eye look somewhat natural. I then opened the resulting image in gimp, which is an open source image editor similar to Photoshop. I increased the color saturation and contrast and reduced the brightness, then used curves to increase the luminance. |

A great image overall, but there is some disparity on the right side near the center, as if a shadow moved or something was cloned out. The 'golden hour' lighting is excellent. Public art is one of my favorite subjects. I know this is different, but to me the value isn't in the price. |

Things we often see, seen in a way we don't often see. Great color, depth and composition, but a bit overexposed. I always hope for a good 'through the window' image. Although there is a single out of place blade of grass in the top right corner, this one has no frame violations and it's pretty conservative. You won't put anyone's eye out, so it's quite acceptable. |

The problem with making depth maps this way is that light to dark is not the way we naturally see depth. David's image looks more natural, because the depth map is based on the syzygy of the elements, rather than the contrast of the scene. To me this is most evident in the wing patterns, where the dark parts seem to diverge from the surface of the wing. |

Excellent. I love posterized images. There is some distracting disparity in the background that might be fixed by separating the background onto a new layer, and using a few more tones in the background posterization. Nice image. |

Scale notwithstanding, it works well in 3D. My only comment is that the nose of the shuttle looks a bit flat. |
