Hi Frans,
Sorry for the delayed reply, I was just using this as an expression that I slightly prefer the B&W version and did not mean to imply that I would sharpen the image. But, just to experiment, I did run the image through TK panels triple play action for darks and then lights and this is what I came up with. Basically It seems to have made the image brighter and with more contrast. I do think that in generally these actions seem to add a bit of noise to the image which may or may not matter depending on how you are going to use the image. In any event this is a fantastic image and fun to think about so thanks for presenting it!

Hi Lamar,
I really like the colors in the image and the composition is very clean. I think the removal of some of the clumps of grass really helped, in fact I would suggest doing a bit more so that the right side of the image is just as clean at the edge as the left side.

Hi Pierre,
This is a very nice composition, I like the arrangement of the groups of trees and the way the water and fog lead the eye through the image. The colors are also very pleasing.
Great job,
Todd

Hi San,
The star trails make such an interesting pattern! I would suggest more light on the foreground, you can use one LED light on a stand and take multiple images moving the light to many different angles to the subject, then blend the foreground images in PS (manually or use: create smart object, stack mode, median). Also, the airplane trails can be cloned out before blending the star trails--which I think gives a cleaner look. Finally, I agree Larry that photopills is fantastic.

Hi Judy,
I like the area of the scene that you have selected. I cropped off a bit of water at the bottom to make an 8x10 crop and added some color at the bottom. I think your shutter speed of 1/10 sec gave just enough blur to the water.

Hi Frans,
This is a fantastic image, Stephen's mirror image technique really works well in this situation. I think the color and B&W are both strong but I'll give a slight edge to the B&W!

Thanks Stephen, although in this lodge every room (1) has a view! |

Thanks Stephen,
I do think the scene looks better without the wire. It was not possible to remove it on site but easy in PS!
