Bob, Your comments got me looking for more info. I now have to correct some of my description. The building was a stone cutting mill, not a hotel. Also, it is in Seneca State Park, not the C&O National Park. That probably explains National Park indifference. |

Bob, That is an interesting observation. In this case, if the National Park Service if not actually encouraging graffiti in this spot, it certainly tolerates it. The "building" consists of the remains of the stone lower walls and is "wall to wall graffiti. I am glad I didn't use one of the images of truly offensive graffiti that the park has tolerated for some years. As you may have noticed if you read my Service column in the Journal, I comment on photo ethics from time to time and had never thought about graffiti in the way you suggest. Thanks for the heads up. |

The stuff beyond the wall is what the Japanese monks call the "borrowed view". You take that concept a step further. Nicely done. How hard is Super ImposeX to work with? |

Nice choice to present the foreground in silhouette. Leaving the brushy trees on the right gives more interest and depth to the image.

A really nice winter image. I would have guessed Yellowstone not Grand Teton. There is a bright round spot on the bottom rail at the left. Any idea what caused it?
A really nice image of a spot that is better in winter than summer. Nice capture.

The massive rocks in the foreground in contrast to the city in the far background add a different contrast to the image. The line of the surf leads directly to Manhattan so you can't miss it. I really like the play of textures throughout this image and the light is lovely. |

This really works in B&W and clearly says winter. The bright linings f the path draw you into the scene. Nicely done. |

Jerry,
Compete this image. It is a shoe in!
Seriously, thanks for taking charge and BTW I like this image. B&W is a good choice giving the image a photo journalistic look. |
