Boy, What a difference B&W and and a vignette make! The original is ugly and the B&W is lovely! A good reminder to think before tossing flowers or images! |

Sol,see my comments on this topic in the January issue of the Journal(p.6)which brought more comments than any other column I have done, including from Jerry whose image I used as an example. Your cropping and contrast manipulation do change the image. My guess is that in competitions judges would vary widely on their views. I think each of us needs to make our best judgement of our intentions and the resulting image as there is no clear line to be drawn. I'll have more on the topic in the May issue of the Journal. |
