Thanks for the comments Pete. The water does look unnatural, good question about the main focus point, I guess I just like the image. Unfortunately I was not staying in the area. |

Hi Don, interesting image and subject. I think you could expand the top quite easily, mostly you would be adding in only sky. What to do about the odd perspective is a puzzle. |

Hello Richard. I think this is a very nice image and I agree that you have handled it well. I like the flip and the flag being gone. I agree with Alex that you could saturate the kayaks more. In regards to Drema's suggestion - I think that if you cropped off the what I find to be distracting part in the lower left and a bit of the right then the focus would be stronger on the group of kayaks and the kayak heading out. |

Great image Pete. I love the capture and you have really brought out the image in post processing. The reflections and the clarity of the water are amazing. |

Hi Lisa, I like your image and the way my eye is funneled into the distance. I agree with Drema about removing the parking lot etc. I think that if taken from a higher altitude the image would have even more depth. |

Thanks for the comments Alex. I assume you mean I should remove the white buoys, etc. that are just floating out there. I will give your suggestion regarding the water a try. |

Hi Drema, I agree with Don. I like the 16:9 aspect the best. I think that you did a good job handling the range of light, the whites in the lighthouse look good. |

Hi Susan, I think that this is an interesting photojournalist type photo. To my eye, the focus and exposure are handled well. I do find the image to be confusing and busy, without your explanation I would not know what was going on. I understand the desire to include as much in the image as possible in order to give the viewer context however to my eye there is no focal point, the smoke could be but I don't think that is the intention. |

Hi Marianne, I think you have come across another interest subject and one that can be quite difficult to capture. I find the image to be very busy with many distracting elements, which the photographer cannot do much about. To my eye the image is underexposed but I think that just adding exposure to the subject would perhaps add more focus on the subject. |

I love this image Michele and to my eye the B&W rendering is perfect. I think it's a great image, simple with strong composition and a certain starkness to it. I think that the kids playing really make the image. |

Great image Chuck. I love the dramatic sky it really adds a lot to the scene. I think you have a strong composition with the sidewalk on an angle and the interesting fence in the background, the dog and girl both in motion. If you could somehow get more focus on the dog I think the image would be perfect. |
