Thanks for the comments Drema. I value your input, it always seems well thought out. I think I will take a look at improving this image if for nothing else other than the practice. |

Hi Don. I agree, I am attracted to the whole scene and I don't see how to crop it without losing what I like about it. I'm not sure that the conventional wisdom is always best, unfortunately when many judges look at an image they immediately look to see what about it violates the so called rules. My friend, who is an excellent photographer, enters images she likes into competition and doesn't worry about what the judges think. |

Thanks for the comments. I like your crop but I do prefer having the sky in the image. |

I love this image Pete. You have captured many planes and the stream really leads the eye into the photo. I think you did a great job removed the path. Your post processing really makes the image pop. |

Hi Alex, I think this is an interesting image. Perhaps a vertical format would be stronger but I do like the way you have presented it. I do agree that the top is a bit too dark. I really like your view from the west, I find the sky to be very interesting and I think it really adds to the image. |

Hi Don, to my eye the playground is the subject and what I would have focused on. But it is not my image and I agree with you when you say you interest was the entire scene and that's what you captured. Sometime you have to just take the photo for yourself and not worry about having a prize winning image. |

Hi Alex, thanks for the comments. Do you think I should clone the reflections in? |

Interesting photo Richard. I agree with Pete that a crop might improve the overall image. Perhaps cropping off the left stand and some of the green on top would improve the composition by focusing on three stands and the broken clays. By the way, I used to shoot skeet and I took lots of photos of shooters, etc. but I never thought of using my drone, that's a good idea. |

Hi Drema, I think this is a great image, you caught the reflection at just the right time. I think that the colors are saturated very well and not overdone. In a club I belong too the judges are down on over saturation preferring a "natural" look. At first glance I did not really like the pink sky but after looking at the image a bit I do find it quite pleasant. Well done. |

Hi Lisa, I love the image, I agree with Pete that this crop is the best and the flowers in the center I think could be saturated more. The symmetry and composition are great. |

Hi Richard, yes, we lucked out with the weather. I agree with your comments about the missing subject. In fact I was just in a conversation about someone else's photo. The thing is I see am immersed in a beautiful scene, I photograph it and when I look at the photo later I recreate the scene in my mind. Someone who wasn't there for the experience cannot feel the same way if there is no subject or focus point. Thanks for the comments. |

Very nice image Susan, I agree that the saxophonist does look distinguished. I like your composition and the angle from which you took the photo. I have two minor nits to pick, to my eye the saxophonist face does not appear to be the sharpest part of the image, which I find a little distracting. Also, I think that if the orange thing in the background were toned down a bit it might make for a somewhat stronger image. Overall I think the image is well done. |

I really like your image Marianne. It tells a story and I think it is well composed and sharp where it needs to be. I like having the sign included, in my opinion that adds extra interest. The pole on the right bothers me a little but no too much. |

Hi Jeff, I like your image, I think it goes well with the comments you have explaining it. To my eye the image is well composed, sharp and well lit. I like that I can see the faces of the audience as well as that of the chef. I never heard of Green Crabs before, do they taste good? In the mid-west we're trying to keep the Asian carp out of the Great Lakes, unfortunately not many people will eat them. |

Very nice image Michele. First of all let me say that I really like the monochrome version, I think your decision to switch from color is right on. I like to look at the images before I read the makers dialog and in this case I felt exactly what you expressed in your comments. My only suggestion is that to my eye the white chair in the lower right appears too bright. |
