85 Apr 23 Reply Thanks for the comments Drema. I agree with you on both points. The cloning was not done well, no excuse for that. Apr 26th
85 Apr 23 Reply That would be perfect! Apr 25th
85 Apr 23 Reply I like the crop but I think a little more could have been left in. Apr 24th
85 Apr 23 Reply I like the boat idea, should it be a sailboat or a boat anchored? I probably have one around. Apr 24th
85 Apr 23 Reply Hi Don. I know how you feel about removing the object, it seems like no matter which option you choose it ends up being the one that judges don't like. :) Apr 24th
85 Apr 23 Reply Thanks for the comments. I agree the sky is not helping the image. Apr 24th
85 Apr 23 Reply Thanks for the info. I plan to be there in October and I hope to get some time to use my drone. Apr 24th
85 Apr 23 Reply I hope you have good weather and great colors.

85 Apr 23 Reply Hi Pete, first let me say that I really enjoyed your article, well done. I agree, I think a mask would be good, I wouldn't want to lose too much of the sky plus I think the horizon is in a pretty good place. Apr 12th
85 Apr 23 Comment Hello Don, I find this image pleasant to look at. I think it is well composed, with an interesting sky and nice scenery. I like how the curve of the water leads my eye into the image. In my opinion I don't see a real strong subject on which to focus my eye, the thing that catches my eye is the white building on the left, which I find distracting. Overall I think that this is a very relaxing scenic. Apr 11th
85 Apr 23 Comment Hello Janos, I think this is a beautiful image. The composition is great, a group of three mountains and the foreground has lots of interest. The boat wake adds lots of interest and its placement in the image, in my opinion, is perfect. Darkening the land mass in the lower right to de-emphasize it works very well. Apr 8th
85 Apr 23 Comment Hi Pete, I think that this is a great image. I really like the composition, your drone gave you a lot of flexibility to get the image. I like that the image doesn't jump right out as a drone image, it is just a beautiful landscape. In my opinion the B&W rendering is perfect, you have really captured the feeling of being there. Do you travel to Iceland on your own or as part of a photography group? Apr 8th
85 Apr 23 Comment Hi Drema, I think this is a wonderful image. I love the composition and the monochromatic color palette, to me this evokes a really strong and beautiful image of winter. I agree that the sky doesn't add anything but it is so muted that I don't mind it at all. The tree at the bottom, I like having it there, to my eye it adds to the leading lines of the image. I think that judges feel like they need to find something wrong and anything on the edge of the image is fair game. Apr 6th

92 Apr 23 Comment Hi Ian, I like this image and the story it tells. I agree with Chuck regarding the crop, I think you could have left a little more on the top and included about half of the doors. I think that would give it more context. Of curse if you left in more of the image someone would say you should have cropped it. Apr 24th
92 Apr 23 Reply I like that, near some talent :) Apr 24th
92 Apr 23 Reply Thanks for he comments Susan. You're right about kids liking to see themselves. Apr 24th
92 Apr 23 Reply Hi Ian, thanks for the comments, I agree with them. The red pants is an easy fix but the kids are not. I like the angle I used and from that perspective I probably could not have gotten the kids in the image as I see that I had my lens at 16mm and I think it was in somewhat tight quarters. Truthfully, I probably never even thought of the kids because I was too intent on getting the image before the subjects noticed me. Apr 24th
92 Apr 23 Reply Hi Jeff, B&W would have been good. I like the color version but the red pants are a real distraction that I did not even realize until you mentioned them. Apr 24th
92 Apr 23 Reply Hi Beth, thanks for the comments. I too wish that I had the kids in the background, although I don't remember what the background looked like. Of course, if I had gotten a wider view I could have cropped later if necessary. I did not really have much time to compose the image, most people there were resistant to getting this picture taken. Apr 12th
92 Apr 23 Comment Welcome to the group Susan. I really like your image, first of all it's a dog. I think you have composed your image well, I like the placement of the dogs face and the leading lines in the sidewalk. To my eye the composition feels quite dynamic. I like that you have left it in color as well. The color palette in the image is limited and the pink tongue and blue scarf really stand out. Apr 4th
92 Apr 23 Comment Hello Chuck, good job spotting this guy at work. I like the action with the spray showing, it really tells the story. I wish that I could see more of the toy so that I could tell what it was just by looking at it. I like the profile shot and I think the B&W rendering is perfect for this image. Apr 4th
92 Apr 23 Comment Very nice image, well composed with lots of interest. Your composition leads the eye right into the image. I agree with Chuck, I see no issues with the sharpness, the R5 can certainly handle high ISO. Apr 4th
92 Apr 23 Reply Good point. Apr 4th
92 Apr 23 Comment Nice image Marianne, it does tell a story that is easy to follow. I find the contrast a little strange, but I like it. The softness doesn't bother me, I think it works with the overall image. Apr 4th
92 Apr 23 Reply Thanks for the comments Chuck. I see your point about the cropped out person, perhaps your suggestion would look better, I guess I have a thing for getting rid of partial figures. If I had thought about it I would have cloned the person out completely. Apr 4th
92 Apr 23 Reply Thanks Marianne. It's one of those moments that makes me feel happy.
