I like your edit, I think I have one similar. You are right the sky does not add to the image. |

Hi Don, thanks for the comments. I also like sweeping landscapes. I feel that lighthouses should be nostalgic and isolated but in the original image I think that the houses etc. destroy that feeling. |

Hi Drema,I like your crop. I think the overall scene, as in the original is nice, but I feel that the other houses, etc. distract from the lighthouse. |

Thanks for the comments Pete. I'm not too fond of the square format either. |

Hi Pete, I think this is a beautiful image thanks to your great post processing; of course you have to have a good image to start with, as you did. The colors are great and the composition is well thought out, you have nice layering leading the viewer eye into the image. To my eye the textures and details are quite remarkable. |

Hi Lisa, I too like how you increased the color intensity, it really pops. I don't mind not seeing the whole circle, I suppose you could have created a large panoramic both vertical and horizontal. I think you could clone out the little structure on the left. I agree with Don, how did you see the letters from the road? |

Hi Don, I like to do panoramas but I usually find it difficult to fill the whole image with interesting details. I agree with Pete that this image has a lot of info that I find distracting. I like Pete's crop because I think it focuses on the main subject and excluded parts of the image that do not improve the overall image. To my eye the sky has as lot of interest and in the cropped version I think that the sky really enhances the overall image. |

Hi Drema, I too am a fan of lighthouses and I think yours is a very nice image. I agree with Janos that Pete's crop is too tight. I don't like the cars but cropping them out doesn't seem desirable. I think I would just crop enough to get rid of the white building at the lower left, I would also crop out the fence at the bottom, to my eye it is distracting and does not add to the image. The clouds are great! |

Hello Janos, I think this is a great image. I don't find the second boat objectionable; I like the image with or without the second boat. I agree with Pete that the upper right could be a little darker. I love this image.

Hi Lance, love the image and the message it conveys. I don't want to repeat what others have said; to me the stationary legs in the background and the movement in the foreground really energize this image. I love how the foot in the near foreground is firmly planted, if that leg/foot were blurred I think it would lessen the feel of movement. |

Hi Beth, very nice image. I like the triangle formed by the main subjects. The people entering the frame give the image a sense of movement. To my eye you have done a fine job with filling the frame with interest. I think you did a good job with the snow, it's not all blown out, if you could bring out the shadows in the snow I think that would be nice. |

Hi Ian, agree about the banister and watermark. The eyes however don't bother me, I did not even notice them until I read your comments. To me he is just looking down at the stairs. |

Personally, I like the bright right side. I think the way his sweater blends with the wall adds a lot to the image. |

Hi Lance, enjoy your comments, thought provoking. I personally don't like fancy or contrived borders. Regarding the overall image, since we did not see the original, how does one know that the submitted image is not as it was taken? Over time I have taken a few image that due to my inattention came out pretty strange, in the end one or two of those showed quite well. I agree that this is not my idea of a street photograph but should it be discounted because it does not fit an ideal? To my eye it doesn't seem posed or staged. |

Hi Beth, I love the image and agree with the other comments. Not much more I can say about it, you have a good eye and good timing. Did you visualize the image and then wait for the person to show up? |

Hi Chuck, I guess everyone loves the shopping cart, me as well. I love the B&W rendering, that with the low angle and the mask gives this image a surrealistic view. |

I like the image, to me it has a very nice feel. I think it could be improved if the image was taken more to the right, thus including the Lion King and cutting out some of the orange objects on the left. |
