85 Jul 21 Comment Hi Don,
I'm late getting my comments in as well. I like your composition and the exposure. I agree with Lisa as far as what is the main subject. I was wondering if there was something of interested to the right that may have been included.

85 Jul 21 Reply Hi Lisa, were you there for your job? I was on the same side of the river but down close to the bank. There is a small parking lot there and an open meadow kind of area, the ground
there is quite a bit lower than the fort.

85 Jul 21 Reply Hi bob, thanks for the comments. Unfortunately I burned out the whites in this image. After reading your comments however I went into PS and tried cloning in some details to the white tents. I also took the opportunity to remove a couple of distracting elements. Thanks again for your comments. Jul 8th

92 Jul 21 Reply Thanks for your comments. Yes, we were quite fortunate. I hope to travel to Cuba again. Jul 27th
92 Jul 21 Comment I think this is a great image, to me the monochrome rendering really increases the image's appeal and impact. I think abandoned buildings make great subjects and I find this gas station to be exceptional. I like how you have filled the frame with the pumps and building, to me the whole image works to tell a story. Your composition draws my eye into the image, I like the American flag still hanging on the porch. Also, I like the sky just as you have it. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Reply Thanks Chuck. I think the retouching was worth the effort. The original told a nice story but I think the modified version is a keeper. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Comment Hi Jill, what a fun image, well done. I like the monochrome version, I think it gives the image a special feel. I think you have done a great job with the composition, depth of field and lighting. I love the red shirt on the girl but personally I find the stop sign distracting, I think the image would be stronger if it were removed. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Comment Hi Jill, I think you have captured a beautiful sunrise and much more. I think that a great sunrise is nice but by itself it is not very interesting, your inclusion of the dock and the person on the dock make this both a beautiful sunrise and an interesting image. I like the colors and the composition, I think the diagonal line of the dock helps to move my eye throughout the image. I also really like that the water has some slight ripples and is not completely smooth. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Reply I agree with your feelings, I had hoped that the pandemic would make us better and more compassionate rather than fuel what divides us. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Comment Hi Brandon, I think this is a very telling and sad image. I agree with the others that we lost so much during the pandemic. I think the monochrome image makes a stronger and starker image which fits better with the story being told. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Comment Hi Albert, thanks for another very interesting image. I agree with the others, I think it is well composed and the lighting and colors are handled well. Mostly I like the story telling aspect of the image. To me it is a very engaging image, once I see the basic image I find so much more to look at in the details. Very well done. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Comment Hi Chuck, very nice image. I liked your post processing as well. I think the image has a fun summery feel to it, I especially like the kid waving his or her shoes around. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Reply Thanks for the comments Jill. Jul 8th
92 Jul 21 Reply Thanks Marianne, it was a wonderful place to visit. Jul 5th
92 Jul 21 Reply Hi Chuck, are you not able to swap images? Jul 5th
92 Jul 21 Reply My fault for not labeling the original correctly. Jul 1st
