This is the Interurban Ohio Electric Railroad Bridge in Waterville, OH. Wikipedia has an entry on it. As I said to Don, I prefer the image this way as I feel it reflects the type of day it was. With the high humidity and light fog all the colors were muted. I think it has sort of a desolate feeling to it. |

Hi Don,thanks for you comments. If I were judging this image I may be inclined to judge it based on what you have said. Persnally I prefer the image this way as I feel it reflects the type of day it was. With the high humidity and light fog all the colors were muted. |

Hi Bob, I like this image. I think it is well composed, I like how the left of the square is cut off and the shadows flow off to the right. To my eye the exposure is well handled. I think the image could be sharper. Dick suggested that the softness might be due to cropping. Do you think that is the issue or is it focus? |

I think Dick has made some good comments on all of the images in our group. Aesthetically I think a higher angle to expand the plane would be nice. I do think that your image portrays a cramped suburbia, while a higher angle might look more spacious. I guess it depends on what story you mean to convey. |

I like the way you opened up the shadows. Your rendering still shows that it is late in the day (or very early). |

Hi Lisa, I agree somewhat with Dick's comments but none the less I do like your image. I think it was well composed and lit. I guess the thing with a drone image is that viewers expect it to shout "drone image" :) |

It was an error on my part, which makes it all the more painful an experience. I was trying to film the sunset under this crumbling bridge and I got too low. |

Thanks for the comments Dick. The Mavic Pro does not have aperture adjustments. I also have a Mavic Pro 2 with the Hasselblad camera which does have full manual control. I hesitate to fly the Pro 2 over water since I fatally dunked my previous Mavic Pro in the river. Anyhow, yes there was a lot of haze, we had a lot of snow and ice and warm resulted in a very eerie atmosphere. |

Thanks for the comments Beverly. It is a nice lens to have, with it one can be prepared for most photo situations. |

Thanks for the comments Chuck. Yes, too bad about the feet. I'm trying not to frame images so tight, there are plenty of pixels to allow cropping later on |

Hi Marianne, I appreciate your creativity. I think this is a great image that seems to merge photography and graphic arts. It is obvious that you put a lot of effort into this image and I think the results are worthwhile. I did not think of it until I read Chuck's comments but I agree that showing more of the street scene might improve the overall impact of the image. I think you have a wonderful image here. |

Hi Brandon, I like your image very much, just as it is. It is so unusual to see empty streets in broad daylight. I think the muted colors with the bright yellow taxi give a strong message of loneliness and despair. Usually I am bothered by tilting vertical lines and such but not in this case, I think it adds to the surrealism of the image. I could do without the wire in the upper left, I find it somewhat distracting. |

Hi Chuck, I like the subject and the composition. I think that after getting your image you might have stepped to the left and possibly got an image without the head tree. |

Thanks for the comments Brandon. I think a 300 does come in handy at times, you can seem to be photographing something else and then get a quick candid image of someone. I have better lenses but I usually have a Tamron 28-300 on my camera when I am just out looking around without any particular in mind to photograph. |

I like the black and white rendering, I think it works better than the color version. I feel that you did a very good job with the composition, I like how you cropped the image, even if the distraction had not been in the original I think the tighter crop helps to focus attention on the cyclists. I like the angles of the buildings and how every thing seems to be in focus. I think you have a nice sky and good details in the shadows. I think if the cyclists were lightened up just a bit they would stand out more. |
