Albert This is a beautiful scenery. Unfortunately being an old and scanned photo, the quality is not that good. It also would have been better if there has been a point of interest or leading line. |

Tam I like this photo. The arch is acting like a frame to the photo. You have selected a good aperture to make the far away background blur.
I agree with Jim that the focus point is not the face of the person. Other than that the photo is looks good. |

Thanks Laura for sharing the Briscoe light technique. It is a useful technique. |

Thanks Jim
I tried the white background, but I preferred the black.
I didn't try black and white version. |

Laura, you have done great work in editing by transforming the original to a warmer photo with an attractive sky.
The buildings seem to be bit darker on my screen. How nice if you have taken this photo during the 'golden hour' with some lights on buildings! |

Steve, Where did you take this photo? Is it a lake? Good shadows and the background is pleasant without undue clutter.
I think it is bit bright and it is a good idea to reduce brightness, highlight and whites and increase shadows.
If this is mine, I will remove the three birds on the right corner as there are too many. The group on the left look at one direction and show some similarity. |

Night photography is not my areas of interest and my comments are based only on visual impact of the photo.
I find the brightness of the fire is bit too much. There are too many dots (stars?) scattered all over the sky, which do not contribute much to the image. |
