A very lovely image. It looks like you will have some fun with your 85mm Macro f2 lens. One alternative suggestion is to vignette your image to draw more attention to the Monarch.

I like your "what if" attitude, and I think you created an interesting image. I think the number of elements work okay. I also think your lighting scheme works well, but I would suggest that you tone down some of the hotspots. The out of focus areas work well. To answer your questions regarding square format and black zones, because the PSA background is black, I have no definition of the edges of the image. You may want to try putting a stroke around the edges. I hope this helps.
