I did take a number of shots from the car, but towards the end of the road, I got out and shot by the pond. He seemed pretty passive, but you always have to be cautious.

Avery nice balance achieved in your post processing. My eye is drawn to the main subject, and you left enough light in the shadow which allow me to explore the image more.

What a nice image. It brought back memories of my road trips into the area. I like Tom's suggestion to experiment. I like what you did with the Stroke around the image, but the Black canvas extension does not show up on the PSA Black background. I used to do that but need to change color. I played a little with your image. A Levels adjustment to brighten the Whites and a vignette to draw the eye into the center of the image. Just a thought.

I like the contrast of the tree against the red rock. I agree with Tom's suggestion to tone down the foreground. It should highlight the main subject more.
