What a nice family photo. I like your use of the shadows and you have them in stride. I think your crop works. If it was my image, I would crop the bottom up so that the walkway starts in the left corner. I would also up the vibrance to bring out some of the winter colors, and maybe use a vignette to frame the family. Having said that, your composition works well.
