An excellent wildlife image with a great back story. The placement of the bat is accentuated by the water trail. Although you have a blown-out area, the action in the image makes it a really fine image.

I think you picked a good image to practice on. The fact that you used multiple masks is a great way to try out different looks. Tom is pretty good with his postprocessing, so I think he may be able to give you some guidance. Have fun playing with lightroom.
