Hi Karen,
Welcome to Group 14. I agree with Larry's feedback. I think you capture a good story and wonderful moment in time. The interaction between the 2 scouts in the background and the expression of the scout in the foreground is priceless. I also agree with Xiao that the image was slightly underexposed. I am not sure which postprocessing program you use. I think a quick fix with levels in Photoshop would help. Again, welcome and thanks for submitting a nice image.
Best regards,

Xiao,
Thanks for your feedback. I am glad I showed both versions. I have received positive feedback on both the color and B&W versions. It is nice to hear feedback from the viewer's perspective.

Syed,
A very nice layered composition. Having the umbrellas and the waves line up parallel makes this a striking image.

Quang,
Wow!!! What a wonderful image. I like the use of a slow shutter speed to soften the wave, and the strong leading line which takes the viewer into the horizon. Very nice composition.

Xiao,
Another fine street portrait. I think you accomplished your goal with the redo of your post-processssing.

Tom,
I think you accomplished your goal. I think your transition stands on its own. Only one suggestion is to tone down the hot spots in the lower half. I think the compete with what you are trying to accomplish.

Darcy,
I think the conversion to B&W works well with this image. The contrast of the white against the dark background made the Hibiscus really stand out. I also believe that the horizonal flip strengthens the composition. The only issue I see is with the focus. It looks like the focus is on the back leaf and I think the image would have worked better with the focus in the center.
Best regards,
