I agree with the others, Richard. Oliver's crop makes the image much more interesting. There is a yellow triangular reflection in the left of the image just below the centre which catches my eye and stops it wandering around looking for somewhere to stop. I don't think that it needs anything else. |

I love the colours and composition of the image, Nick. Definitively up to your usual standard. I'm not sure though about the effectiveness of the blurred red area in conveying that car is stopping quickly to avoid the chickens. I think that Richard's suggestion of skid marks would work well combined, perhaps, with a dust cloud. |

This is a good, sharp image, John, with lovely patterns and colours. It would work well in a travel guide. I don't think, though that the spires are vertical and, if it were mine, I'd adjust it to fix that. I agree with the others that the sky could do with more interest in it. |

I like the idea of the old house and mail boxes making a good story, Oliver but I'm not sure that the story is told with the image as it stands. I know you can't do anything about it at this stage but, for me, the mail boxes block the way to the house, especially with one of them overlapping. If you could take the image again it may be better to move round to the left to give a more diagonal angle. Also, I don't think that the building looks particularly derelict and it would be good to play with it in the way Richard suggests. It would be great to see your version after this work if you have time to do it… |

This is a very attractive image, Barbara. I felt, though, that the two figures are a bit too close to the bridge and the tall figure gets a bit lost as a result. I've taken the liberty of moving them bit to the right (see below) and I feel that makes the image a tad better. I too have had a go at bringing out the details in the dark area under the bridge but the information isn't there to bring out. If this image was taken in raw you might be able to recover some of the original detail but if it was a jpeg then that ability has been lost in the conversion. |
