82 Jan 19 Comment An interesting image but I think if it was in colour the posters would stand out more. Certainly, it made me think. Jan 14th

82 Jan 19 Comment Wonderful candid - she is obviously amused by something! I can understand why you lightened the image overall from the original. But for me, I would like to see the blouse and hat a tad closer to the original in terms of darkness. Nevertheless, an excellent image. Jan 14th
82 Jan 19 Comment Great picture and an iconic subject. The bird really stands out. Could you blur the background more to reduce further the patterning from the fence/cage? Jan 14th
82 Jan 19 Comment Beautiful shot - I wonder what they are 'saying' to each other? As Vera says, the depth of field makes the two birds stand out. Jan 14th
82 Jan 19 Comment I very much like this image particularly the shadow of the 'bug' on the other side of the petals. I don't think the bud on the stem is distracting. In fact, without it I suspect there would be too much yellow. Just right, I would say. Jan 14th
82 Jan 19 Comment Thanks for the comments. The subject did not seem to make any movement over the several minutes I was photographing her. She was certainly lost in thought.

83 Jan 19 Comment This photo draws you in with a story to tell. Where are their riders if any? Why does one have an untied tether rope? Love this contrasty image and background blur - well done! Jan 26th
83 Jan 19 Comment This is a great action photo. In particular , you have captured the wave very well. I am tempted to suggest to blur the surfer more to emphasise the movement - however, this may well not work. Jan 26th
83 Jan 19 Comment Great photograph. The foogy atmosphere adds the right note to the already somber graveyard scene. A vignette might draw the eye into the centre and reduce the slight 'pulling' effect of the right hand stone pillar.
Very effective nevertheless!

83 Jan 19 Comment Thanks for all the comments. I wished in hindsight I had looked round to see what (if anything) the man on the left was looking at. I suspect it was just a mannerism and he remembered the story he obviously was relating.
I tried blurring the background more but it looked unnatural - rather like a TV blue screen image.

Again thanks to everyone.

83 Jan 19 Comment This is a great image. It works by presenting the viewer a puzzle. In some ways it is an optical illusion that needs solving. The use of monochrome by removing some of the visual clues make the effect stronger. I wonder if tighter cropping would heighten the it. I'll try and post any results worthy of others' comment. 83 Jan 19 Comment A very striking and creative image. Overall, I probably like Peter's arrangement the best. I was wondering the effect if the face was made smaller to fit the red region on the base in Original 3 and then the surround darker. It is however a very memorable picture. Jan 14th
