Thanks Sherry, usually no straightening required with the Tilt shift as this does away with having to angle the camera up/down or sideways as only the lens moves not the whole camera.
It is a fabulous building and I'm sure it will make an amazing conference centre. I will not be able to afford to stay in any of the rooms though :-) |

Thanks Ian, yes I'm sure I must have some relatives there in Oz sent away on the prisoner ships in the 1700s :-)

Hi Stephen,
Many thanks for your observations. On your first point, I shoot for the architect responsible for this building and architects in my experience (mostly) prefer one perspective views. In actual fact anyone from the team gets a bit flustered if they see 2 point perspectives and tell me that they only appear in lifestyle magazines. So I tend to do this. BTW this one is a little off centre much to my annoyance ! I could have shot slightly to the right which would have given a better perhaps more interesting shot but the client wouldn't have liked it.
On your second point, I think you are absolutely right especially about the shadowing. I find myself sometimes getting carried away with the highlight and shadow sliders which make things look a little unrealistic which is very bad, yours is a better interpretation I find. I also like the idea of slightly slanting in the columns, again me being obsessed with every line having to be 100% correct. This point is definitely something I have to behave myself on ! |
