73 Mar 19 Reply Thanks Peter, I completely agree with the contrast change it lacks a bit of punch and probably a bit too blue haze if I'm honest with myself. Mar 19th
73 Mar 19 Reply No problem Darryl, but you'll need an adapter. Canon, Nikon and there is a cheaper brand whose name I forget make T/S lenses but the adapter is by an independent company that specialises in adapters. I think you'll be OK with the Sony, the FF sensor size should be the same as Canon and Nikon I guess, so this shouldn't limit your shifting. Sell your car buy a T/S lens :-)) Mar 18th
73 Mar 19 Reply Sorry if it came over as a lesson David, it was just that I thought that your image deserved another view so experimented a bit :-) Mar 18th
73 Mar 19 Comment Now you're just making jealous ! Belgium has some great bars and delicious beer but can't beat a proper English pub on a cold day with an open fire !!! Mar 16th
73 Mar 19 Comment Definitely do it Darryl. The most versatile one is 24mm can be used in so many different ways. 19mm (Nikon) I find too soft at the edges and a bit barrelly, 45 is good for distance and I haven't bothered with the 85mm.

All that having been said, this image was taken with a 'cheap' Tamron 70 - 300mm, it has saved me so many times and from this boat going very fast and up and down (as Sherry mentioned) it handled the situation very well.

73 Mar 19 Comment Just perfect. Love the light through the feathers of the geese wings and the layering in the image. Nice one Peter. Mar 16th
73 Mar 19 Comment Nice photo Ian, an amazing time of the day. I'm not landscape photographer so can't really say much. I think if I had to give some constructive criticism, my feeling is that there's too much in the foreground, I know the idea is to give details of the rocks and the cragginess of it all but I think I would have gone further forwards to the edge of the rock in the foreground so that theres more sea crashing against the rocks and to emphasis the mistyness of the Seaspray that you can see in the distance. But of course this may risk sea salt in your equipment, which I fully understand :-)

73 Mar 19 Comment Hi Darryl,

What a lovely scene you must have been freezing at the end of your shoot ! Beautiful part of the world.
I couldn't resist adding an element :-) The Flying Scotsman ! I'm just messing around and spoiling your beautiful image but couldn't help myself.
Great to have you as part of the group BTW !

73 Mar 19 Comment As we're playing with David's image I thought I'd have a go as well. :-)
Its a great image but I think all photographers have their idea of the perfect images so here goes.
I like the hills in the background most of all. They remind me of Marlboro man adverts. The road leading into the scene is also a great way of leading the eye into the photo. So I thought try and squeeze it into the Fibonacci division. It seems to work. So the road is now on the right and leads your eye to the mountains. Sort of taking you on a journey through the photo.
Just in case. Michael Freeman has written some great books, the photographers eye, photographers mind, capturing light etc etc and they have great tips and tricks in them.
BTW I try to always carry a small camera with me for those unexpected moments it's a Lumix 220 ZS I think 20MP 24 - 360mm with a 1 inch sensor perfect to have on your hip.

73 Mar 19 Comment Loving the converging lines of the road on the left Sherry. Very clean light in Iceland. Also like the fact that the image =draws you into the horizon and distant hills.

very nice
