That's right Larry. Depends on how the photographer visualized and decides to present. |

Oh absolutely Michael! I fell in love with the landscape everywhere. This scene particularly made up for our loss of Wildebeest migration in Mara in 2018. :)
Thanks for your fb. |

Sure Larry. Thanks for the inputs. In the heat of the moment, lost track of all that and just kept clicking (although I try not to do that like a real beginner sometimes). Can you believe I used a spot metering even and just noticing while doing PP? Had used the spot metering before to click a Fox in shades and switched to this scene without changing the settings unfortunately.
But yes, will try to hold my horses & keep my heels pressed down next time onwards, hopefully ;) |

Excellent capture & timing Mark. Especially, given that you were on a kayak. I agree with you about the angle of the shot. But you have managed a great shot with your limitations imo. We should be lucky enough to be at the right spot and set things right to get everything as we desire for. (like Larry does it with lots of patience, planning & waiting for the right shot - as we understand from his Cormorant image previously)
I am not sure, did you have a chance to plan and wait for a better shot after seeing this guy unexpectedly first time?
I do echo the thoughts of Michael about darkening the bg a bit more. |

Super shot Richard! As others have mentioned, it has a nice painterly effect overall. I really appreciate your courage to even step out of the car and take chance with the beast. Although I do understand the wildlife is also shy unless it feels threatened.
I just tried a slightly different frame as attached. See if it makes sense...
My PP details... Cropped in PS for 3:2 ratio, Dehazed +4 and added Vignetter of -14. I would like to get your fb on my PP too... :) |

An artistic image I would say Jason. One of the best examples to show even a simple subject can make it upto the wall...
I noticed there is a lack of sharpness overall and agree with Larry & Richard to increase the sharpness in PP. Especially on the face & beak.
I personally feel, you had scope to narrow down the aperture by a stop or two to get more sharper image and play with either ISO or EV. Nevertheless, it giving a good feel overall. And lastly, with all such inputs like Larry's, I do agree to add a border to define the frame for the viewer. |

Hello Michael, you gave a feeling that at least somebody out there is waiting to hear from me too ;) lol
You have got a lovely, soft spread, colorful sky with vibrance. Doesn't look over saturated at all to me. I liked the idea from our Master Blaster (Larry) to have tried a little lower angle to reduce the amount of bright space.
2 things I would have wished for in the image... 1. A little bit of puffy clouds to add more drama 2. flying birds either on sky line or water line to fill up that space
Irrespective, lovely image to say even sunrises are equally colorful like sunsets :) my personal liking is sunset given there will be more time to play around + a little more drama in the sky |

Beautiful image Larry. Worth the 2 mile hike. Is there a full image of all 4 tiers by any chance? (just to look & feel the full drop) or I guess because of the 2nd tier basin it would not be possible to get all 4 tiers may be?
I see 2 different white tones on the falls top half and bottom half. While I understand it is due to the play of light, does it make sense to match the tones?
