Thanks Richard. Sometimes its confusing to limit our thinking as the viewer decides quality of the picture based on his varying taste or likes you see :) |

What interests me is your point about conversion to B&W and back to color version. For some reason, I thought that wouldn't impact as the settings would be different for color version and B&W version (which gets re-set after I make the shift back and forth). Will try that on one of my images soon. Thanks Todd! |

This is a beautiful greeting card image with a nice message on it Mark. :)
I loved the PP by Todd as his image looks even more attractive with right contrast and details in those clouds on top right corner. IMO, I would have reduced a bit of highlights in that white sky area and increased the contrast to make the clouds more dramatic. I see that coming out in Todd's processing to certain extent. |

Wow Richard! I admired the adequate highlights / shadow recovery you have done in PP. Not to miss mentioning the right cropping you chose as well. |

Classy image Larry. Post processing is just right to keep the viewer's eyes ONLY on the bird and its reflection briefly. Amazing!
I get goose bumps by reading your pointers about dealing with gators... I don't think I could dare that :)
Interestingly, I think, this image will be well suited for a horizontal frame with only the bird too(keeping away the reflection). However, making it very usual and boring though.
Lastly, this pic reminds me of your gator image in the past month for some reason... |

Welcome to the most interactive group I have been part of so far... :)
I like the choice of B&W for this image. I am wondering if you have another frame with both the crows standing up like the one on the left so it could like a pattern running from extreme left to the the extreme right of the image growing diagonally... in-line with 2nd and 3rd fixation points as explained by Larry. Another look, and corresponding thought in my mind is how about a vertical crop? So it fits the required subjects well in the grid and removes the dead space on the top left... something like the attached... |

Hello Todd, 1st thing I thought was in-line with others regarding the bridge log. I liked the cropped version by Larry & Michael. However, I felt the water texture could have been a little more smoother with a slower SS.
Irrespective, it a very attractive image for wallpaper or wall mount... |

I referred to this image in my comments Michael. Loved this version in color section while B&W is compelling too. |

Brilliant capture I must say Michael! I simply loved both the versions of the image. More so the color version after your edit in the comments section. Although I feel the 2nd color version can hold more contrast & saturation to show the rough texture of rocks and tree bark with adequate greens, reds and blues imo... |

Good observation Todd. Yes, I removed the bright grass in front of it to remove a bit of distracting element. This is one question I had for Larry or any of you judging the images... Is this type of cropping/cloning allowed in Nature/Wildlife category? I understand, by definition, we should not be cloning to show/hide any objects/materials in the image.
Regarding the vehicle movement, no the vehicle was stopped for good 10 mins or so for the action. |

Wow Michael! I had not thought of this tight composition given the intent to keep little bit of surrounding. But this is definitely a good composition to try. Thank you! |

Thanks Richard. While processing I pushed the bar a bit more for contrast but it was a bit odd so settled for this. :-) |

Sure Larry. Makes sense. I tried hard to soften the grass in PP but not enough as it could have been better managed while shooting based on your pointer. Will keep in mind. Thanks again for your detailed observation as always |
