So Joan, thank you. I wondered about leaving the hole empty behind or putting something behind it (like layer in an ocean). I didn't see the path leading to the hole in my original photo, but when Rick did the darker colors, I instantly saw the pathway and then when I went back to my photo, it was there as well. I see the mystery with my original photo as if I am there looking through the keyhole to see what is behind, yet Rick's darker version seems to stand alone? Am I explaining it correctly? It definitely asks the questions in the first photo, and maybe it is assumed in the darker version. I like the thought process this is evoking. Thank you all. |

Rick, I'm unfamiliar with "Topaz Studio." When you say "texture possibilities" what are you referring to? Are you saying change the texture of the wood or just changing to look/color/vignette? Thank you. |

Very interesting, yes. The middle hole that bothers me isn't so apparent in this photo. I will definitely play with your suggestion. Thank you. Here the hole looks as if at the end of a little tunnel through the wood, more so than the original one. I didn't see the tunnel until just now - thank you! |

Beautiful, perfect rose. It needs nothing as it stands on its own. For me, I think a drop of water on one of the petals would take it to the next level in my mind. It is one of those roses, too perfect to pick. Thank you for sharing. |

I love this picture! The enthusiasm of the children, the energy of the little girl 4th from the right. The three boys on the right - all so full of joy. The contract of those 3 girls on the left that are sort of "running away" from the joyful children on the right. Kids these days seem to have lost their joy with all the drama/stress going on in their world. To see this photo brings back hope for me, that the children still have the joy of childhood. Thank you for sharing. |

I'm with Charles! I wish I had the skills to create something like this! It is beautiful, haunting and moving even though I have no clue about the song, the photo stands on it own! Thank you for sharing with us. |

Thank you Nadia. I did try it as a mono, but I didn't think it was as striking as it is in the brown/rust. The dark didn't accent the light or vice versa as I thought it would. The nails seemed to disappear so to speak. |
