10 Jun 19 Comment Thanks, Diana. I did consider the suggestions of removing this stamp and then your additional suggestion of removing the word postcard. However, if I were to do that, would it it still be a postcard, or would it just be a background texture? Entered this image in quarterly Club competition, and it did place gold. Thanks for all your wonderful input. This is such a great group. Jun 16th
10 Jun 19 Comment Mark, I agree about the interest provided by the scales, but I find the story to be the people. I might try cloning out the poster. Should be easy as the surrounding background is so plain. Jun 10th
10 Jun 19 Comment I so enjoy moody places like this one. Well done for recognizing the potential and capturing the scene. The soft light and hint of fog gives it an air of mystery and loneliness. The branches seem like shrouds wrapping the bench protectively. The vignetting helps accentuate the bench. Mark, I would prefer the white patch were removed. Seems so out of place. Jun 10th
10 Jun 19 Comment To my eye, a most attractive daisy. Well done. Applaud your willingness to experiment with focus stacking. Great to see the entire bloom in sharp focus. I do find the background daisy a bit distracting, maybe because it is turned away. Could you try again with it facing forward? Maybe move it further back? Agree with Mark on adding a bit more liveliness with editing tools like Clarity, highlights, shadows, etc. The LR adjustment brush is wonderful for painting selectively. Indoors, I have experimented with using a small penlight flashlight to lighten a flower center. Jun 10th
10 Jun 19 Comment So enjoying this image. What a beautiful church. Ifind it to be a strong composition with the red carpeting making a striking foreground to complement red lamp shades and stained glass. Agree with Mark on work on windows. Maybe adding some saturation. New texture slider in LR might be interesting. Globally, I might give the image some Clarity for a bit more pop. Still, well done. Jun 10th
10 Jun 19 Comment Thanks, Mark. I did not give enough consideration to the stamp. Will investigate your creative suggestions. Jun 10th
10 Jun 19 Comment Really enjoy this image. Thought you did a great job through glass on a moving bus. Benefit of really fast shutter and high ISO? As you might have noticed by now, I'm a minimalist, so my focus really wanted to stay with the subjects. Cropped, added vignettes with Gradient Tool to darken sides, lightened faces and man's hand with Dodge tool. To my eye, strong distractions were poster on wall behind the people and broken curb to the right. That's where my eye kept going. Jun 7th
