10 Feb 19 Reply Thanks for excellent input, Mark. I needed to here your suggestion. Been trying to get everything into 11x14 for matting and framing, but learning it's not always the best choice. The original image showed more space above horse's ears and below boy's arm. Definitely better. Will require a custom mat to look its best. :-) Feb 25th
10 Feb 19 Comment Diana, was curious how this image would look with a simpler background and more space on the right. Quick edit, so it's a little rough in places. Might eliminate all background around head if it were my image. So enjoy your capture of this bright little bird. Feb 13th

10 Feb 19 Comment Cropped a little tighter. Added vignetting to borders using LR Gradient Tool as my eyes kept being distracted by pipes. Vignettes look darker in this image, so I would apply less next time. Lightened faces of drive and donkeys slightly. Added clarity to driver's face to emphasize concern in his eyes. Enjoyed this image very much. Thank you. Feb 13th
10 Feb 19 Comment My rendition of magnificent red sunflower and garden. Cropped tight to feature sculpture. Quickly darkened all bright areas as my eye always goes to brightest objects in frame. Would use more brush care if creating final image. To me Western eye trained to read left to right, direction of subject needed to be flipped to directly face the sun. Couldn't resist adding bit more animation to eye. :-) Feb 13th
10 Feb 19 Comment Donna, my rendition of your delightful image. Used LR Gradient Tool to add vignettes of varying densities and widths to all four edge of image. Added light behind heads of birds. Lightened face on right. Cropped from left to set cranes off-center in frame. Puts me in mind of flamenco dancers poised to begin a spectacular dance routine with space to sweep across the ballroom floor. Feb 13th
10 Feb 19 Comment Herb, for me this is a wonderful example of ways to use light in creative ways for bringing maximum Impact to an image. My eye is first attracted to one subject, the man, and then even more impactful, the glowing tip of the cigar. One plays off the other beautifully. Together, I find them melding into a third, even more
powerful subject, the emotion of simple Joy. Well done.

10 Feb 19 Comment David, for me, this is a very good documentary image to show many aspects of the lovely garden. As the viewer, my eye is working hard to find a place to settle. With so much Beauty around, my suggestion would be simplify the composition to just one subject as a way to increase impact. Feb 13th
10 Feb 19 Comment To me, the capture of the bird is excellent in every way. I might suggest darkening all the bright white around the bird to bring greater attention to the subject. I don't find the stick on the left to be a distraction, however I might suggest blurring it a little more so it fades further into the background. I agree with suggestion of adding a catch light. 10 Feb 19 Comment This is a most interesting image to me, Mark. I find it documents a slice of this man's life very well. Difficult capture under the circumstances in which you took the photograph. Well done. My suggestion would be adding a vignette to slightly darken the areas around the subject. LR gradient tool works even better to add selective vignetting on each side separately. Thank you. 10 Feb 19 Comment Donna, so enjoyed your image of the sandhill cranes. Beautiful capture. Your edit with the crop and layer mask enhances the image even more. Thank you. Feb 13th
10 Feb 19 Reply Thanks, Herb. Yes, I didn't appreciate what I'd captured until I pulled this picture out of the original capture. Feb 3rd
10 Feb 19 Comment Excellent decisive moment capture. Agree with Herb about tightening image and brightening eye. Might suggest a bit more sharpening. Do you use Photoshop? Camera Shake Filter works wonders on handheld images. In Lightroom or ACR, a boost in Clarity and Vibrance might add extra pop. Feb 3rd
10 Feb 19 Comment Thanks, Herb. Actually, the first image posted...the one at top of page... was original RAW capture. My final, edited version did not post with original. Definitely needed work. Blue cast was odd. Uploaded final image just now. Great eyes see alike as you will notice my edits were same as your suggestions. Conversion to sepia really brought out the light on both faces. Yes, a special moment indeed. Feb 3rd
