Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
10 Jan 19 Comment Thanks, Donna. Here is original capture of Barrow Buddies. The wheel barrow and ducks (except for beaks and feet) stayed the same color. Grass and water changed color with sepia. To my eye, the green and blue did not help the image as much as the monotone treatment. :-) Jan 14th
10 Jan 19 Comment Diana, I opened your beautiful daisy in PS and selected the center with the Elliptical Marquee Tool. I added a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer to the center only by using the Create Clipping Mask command, which locks the adjustment layer to the selected area only, not the entire image. Brought up the B/C sliders just a bit to focus light on the center. A tad too much to my eye now. Caution wins the day. :-) Jan 13th
10 Jan 19 Comment This image grabs and holds my attention in a very good way. I find the three birds traveling in near perfect formation to be unique and powerful. Just for curiosity, in PS, I tightened up the image and applied a Texture/Burlap to add interest. For me, the tighter crop pulls me into a more intimate relationship with the birds, but finding the texture a bit too strong. Would still apply a texture of some kind, but would erase it from the birds, leaving it on the background only. Jan 13th
10 Jan 19 Comment This rendition that tones down lighted fountain was done VERY quickly in PS with Burn tool and Healing Brush tool. Given more time, I would use adjustment layer masks to more smoothly and subtly paint in changes, keeping the fountain a bit brighter and color more similar to main fountain top. Jan 13th
10 Jan 19 Comment This is an amazing structure. However, my eye is distracted by a busy foreground..colors, metal barrier, vehicle. For me, seeing the top of the steeple would also help. Realizing the challenge of overcoming many obstacles, my rendition simplifies the scene. I might adjust perspective to make walls perpendicular might be a consideration. Jan 13th
10 Jan 19 Comment To me, this bird and its surroundings are attractively captured and presented. The softly blurred upper background and the detailed lower background fading out to blur lifts the bird up to meet my eye. Very nice. I find the tip of the beak distracting, however, leaving me to wonder what happened. Any way to combine a similar image in which the beak is sharp into this one? If so, it would be truly enjoyable. 10 Jan 19 Comment My attention was immediately pulled into this image. To me, the movement of the water is attractive. Wonder about the intensity pf spotlight in lower right of image. Definitely where my eye moves and gets locked in rather than absorbing the image as a whole. Jan 12th
10 Jan 19 Comment To me, the freshness of the image is most attractive. I find it attractive to be off center, too. As a suggestion, perhaps concentrate more light into the center of the image to help draw my eye in. Thank you. Jan 12th
