Hi Kathy,
I like the mood you have created here and I can only imagine what the story is about. I wonder if the man and woman could be closer together. All in all, I love the idea of a book cover as inspiration! |

Hi Maryellen,
My first impression is that you were possibly looking for a 3D effect for the camel, and I think the bas relief filter gives the feeling of 3D. However, for me, the background competes with that feeling because it over powers the camel. I wondered if there was a way to enhance the 3D feeling, so I took the image into PS, made a selection of the camel and then blurred the background of color. I thought it still needed something, so back in LR I used the Cool Light filter and came up with this effect. |

Hi Jim, welcome! A wonderful image. Very compelling and touches my imagination. My only thought is to move the entire subject slightly to the right in the frame. I'd like her "scream" to have more room to be "heard". |

Henry, this is lovely. I love the way you used the blend mode on the stamens. My only thought is the same as a few others have mentioned, to extend or re-position original #1 so that the stem somehow extends out of the frame. |

Hi Brad,
I love the concept, and the elements work really well together. The contrasting dark blue sky, green grass and orange fire are wonderful. The monkey in both versions have a good visual connection to the fire, but I prefer the second version (#3) because he seems more fearful and cautious of the fire than in the first version. But, #3 does get cutoff and that did bother me. I thought that maybe by extending the canvas down in PS by 10%, it would allow enough room to clone in some grass and give him a base for sitting. I do like the vignetting that Kathy did in her version also. It creates more moodiness. |
