Hi Henry, if you will be using the Topaz filter on this, then I think you are on the right track. I'd still like to have the red blooms moved to the right and perhaps use a rectangular format. Either way, the details created by the Topaz filter should look more defined by getting in closer. |

Fotoclave is a photography conference held every two years here in the Bay Area, sponsored by the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs. This year I was invited to be one of their break-out speakers, and I am very honored to do so. My session will be on.. guess what? Composites! |

Lisa, wonderful detail in the neon blue flowers! I agree with Brad about this being exotic. Or other worldly. |

Hi Sue,
I have to say that you always prepare your stories very well and this is no exception. It came together nicely but my only thought at this point is whether you have a grand baby yet? |

Hi Maryellen and welcome.
This is a lovely image. Your presentation is very nice and I enjoy the touch of flowers overlapping the edges of the frame in just the right places. The subdued color of the background image contrasts nicely with the well exposed egret. My only comment would be to bring the highlights down in the hands. The brightness competes with the brightness of the egret.

Hi Henry,
I like the Monet filter and the reflections stand out in particular, which sets the mood for the image. For me, although the filter creates a painterly feeling, it obscures the details. When I zoom into this image, the details from the filter are lovely, but hard to see from a distance. Therefore, I'm wondering if you might have a horizontal version of this image in which you could crop in closer. Keep the red plant and set it on the upper left power point in the composition. |

BTW, did I see one of your images in the Yosemite exhibit at the Century 21 office in Lincoln? It was beautiful. I have one up there also. |

Hi Kathy,
I like the mystery of this image, it has all the elements of a fantasy. Your intent really comes through to me as the viewer. I would like to see the mermaid with more of an aura of light around her. My attempt to lighten her up a bit came with more sparkles on the rock she's sitting on, which I kind of like. I did darken the sky and crop it down a little. |

Hi Brad,
I love the simplicity of the two images and I think they work really well together. Adding birds might be odd since birds (except owls) don't fly at night. I believe your image can be enhanced simply by adjusting the colors because overall it feels flat to me, lacking contrast. I reworked the image and reduced the yellow cast, added a hint of light on the water and brought out more contrast and detail in the shore and water, and finally darkened the sky. What do you think? |
