Gabriele, you are the author of the work. So you are the best judge. We discuss about the output but the photographer himself knows what barriers he had to face or what enjoyment he earned. However such discussions also let us know many valuable matters. All my friends of PSA are competent photo artists. I have learnt from various on line courses at PSA that every image is good, some may be better, some best. No image is bad. This lesson from PSA has made my views always positive about photography. |

After editing by Regine himself, the output is a nice one. Variation of colors, Variation of exposures from sky to land and grass to flowing water are beautiful. More brightness may damage the water ripples and cloud texture. Nice composition Regime |

I feel your original pic is more attractive. After editing the sun beam has been ignored. Texture of clouds have been removed. I prefer the gloomy sky of the original image with a suggestion of little change in brightness and contrast. |

I like the attempts of Art Jacoby though I in many cases it differs from my own philosophy of work. Art mainly makes experiment on three aspects--(1) Flip the image, (2) Eliminate the extra/ negative space (3) Enhance brightness. Art, as I request need to think in other ways also. Exposure of the face of a man with hood is naturally low. If I dodge the face only, it appears that either a reflector or a light source has been used. It is a colorful candid photo. I can not experiment against the OPTICS. I feel that only overall brightness should be incresed without affecting the highlight details of the apparels and skin tone.

Arabic individual s move right to left, Chinese and Japanese s go up and down. Vision from left or right is optional. Everyone has rightly told about this nice image. I request Ganriele to point out that inspite of high velocity of the boat, there were no significant ripples in water.
partial clarity of the boat with motion blur could be more effective. |

Art, I am from India where wealth is wasted and poverty is created I am acquainted with the slums and homeless people in front of multistoried apartments.
My suggestions to Art, Please - 1. Don't eliminate the background (BG). It will alienate your subject from the contradictory perspective. 2. Rather, Blur the BG, 3. Reduce the highlight of the BG and 4. Eliminate the human figure in the BG.
