It's a skin smoothing action I purchased I believe from Luxe actions. I'll attempt your techniques. Thanks! |

Donna I like this composition very much. I like the pose and the color harmony. Love the dress. I agree with Manfred's comments about the hot spots, that appear in the re-touch but not in the original. The choice to add color to her lips was a great idea. Congratulations on using lights!
I often end up with hot spots in the areas mentioned and for the nose tip I usually use the clone tool at about 30%, sample the adjacent area and tap with the edge of the soft round brush a few times to tone down that hot spot. I sometimes do the same on other hot areas. It just depends on how much it takes - sometimes this technique can remove too much texture. I still have much to learn on the lighting and retouching end. |

Great image. Your positioning of the light and arrangement of the pose is so precise as to eliminate unwanted shadows which may have occurred due to the contours of the eye piece. Very well done. I like your crop, background adjustment and color tones. |

Thanks. I am realizing the blurred hand is definitely part of the skin smoothing - I am using the smoothing feature to even out color tones. Maybe I can soften the opacity of the brush. If that doesn't work - would Frequency Separation have to be the answer? I will keep an eye on the eyes! I appreciate your feedback! |

I think letting the branch extend to the edge then leads the eye out of the frame. I may even redo the image to have the branch come in from the left but get the bird turned around so she is facing left. Looking forward to hearing other opinions! |
