Don't get me wrong as i love it as presented. I am throwing out another variation for view, and to me, both are compelling. |

Kathy, you have a good capture, and even better second posting after implementing the suggestions. Nicely done, and it could be a tad lighter, maybe the background even more, so you have separation from the bird and background as the colors are so close. Beautiful wingspan. |

Sarita, nice capture, and I love you have flower pedals verses a fish, and that make it unique to me. I do find the bird is way overshappened, making it look plastically. Try it again in my opinion and allow it to have a gentleness to it. You can also add some texture and contrast, and maybe clarity to the upper wing. I like the crop, and you could even add a smidge at the top. |

Pei-Fan, a beautiful shot and story. The bird on the tree is super sharp and wonderfully rendered. You are blessed to have gotten the flying bird even though it is a bit soft. That happens. A wonderful background, and green color. I love this shot. |

Mike, I like what you did, and same as to the suggestions. The wing on the right is a bit out of focus. That happens to me too. There is a fine line of too little or too much f stop for depth of field. Same as to post processing sharpness. Sharpness on many subjects works great but on birds I prefer a softer image than and overshapened bird and bird feathers. Dr Isacc made good comments on that subject. The little blue spot in the background could also be cloned out as that is a bit distracting to me. Nicely seen. |

Jim, great captures, as you know. To me the original 2 shot is way more compelling as it is powerful!!! I can feel the energy and anticipation. The one you chose is not as sharp and more typical albeit wonderful, and we all should have such wonderful shots. You have many comments on the one shown, so I will comment on the one I love. Colors are very pleasing. I would darken the rocks above, and I would take out sharpness of the bottom water, keeping the focus on the eagle and about to be grabbed fish. I would even see how it looks to unsharpen slightly the water under the eagle, and even crop up a bit just above the oval circle of water. beautiful. |

Dr Isaac, first impression is "wow"! I like what you did in taking a nice shot and doing something different. It looks to me to be very organic and native american. Your crop and boarder are perfect. I do find it compelling but I am also finding my eye must move up and down to see it completely, and the subjects are far apart. I like it as is. An alternative simple picture I have attached as another possibility (then add more white at the bottom), which I like more, but then the beautiful symmetry and reflection is gone. |

Yes, exactly Jim. Gull shots like this seem to create this wonder. :) |

Jim, I agree with you, and I am not sure, but I think it may be flying away from me, although I try not to take those away shots. I could find out by brightening it, but I like the mystery. Good point you make. |

Jo-Ann, I am spot on with your comments, as I see it that way too. I wanted opinions because the color I really like, but the eye in the bnw give to me the drama. Well said by you, and I much appreciate your comments. |

Angela, another creative shot. I really like that the droplets are under and over the wire. How you did this was remarkable. The background bothers me, and solid pink would be my choice. Reflections are a strength you have mastered.
I don't know what to suggest, but a more striking wire twist is what I would like to see, and more wire and twists in the inner circle, as there is a lot of dead space. The boarder does not do much for me, and I find it a bit distracting. I think I would find it more interesting if you cropped off most of the bottom part. |

Tom, you took a complicated scene and made a photograph of the picture in the picture. Well done. You have a good photographer's eye. The post processing of the girl as others have shown makes a big difference. I like her pose and it has become a compelling portrait. |

Kurt, you saw your subject and captured it. We all do that. I encourage you to wait and be ready for when it flies away, getting a more interesting capture. More post processing helped. I suggest you ask yourself what story you can show unfolding, and expand your vision on that story. I think you will be pleased with your results. |

Jo-Ann, your shot is a great example of a documentary photograph and that compelling shots are showing us something that we are not accustomed to seeing, something unique. First we get the shot. We also have the opportunity to make a photograph, by cropping, dodging and burning, etc. Your passion can take you from documented scenes to scenes of art! |

Janet, I love the angle and I feel I am right there. The expression is priceless. Love the paws right up there. Nice post processing. A bit muddled but effective on the background. Good choices all around. |
