15 Dec 23 Comment I love the gestures and the head turn on the right one. I see the pictures small so my comments may be a bit off.
The background is well muted. If not for competition you could clone out the middle grasses that are distracting.
Personally, I would add a tad at the top of the pic, giving a bit of more breathing room and balance, but it definitely works as is. Colors are great. Tone down the middle bright grass that the left bird is on, and the tip of the branch for the one on the right. Also, the upper wing on the bird on the right seems a bit bright, and you can use a brush and bring down the highlights, my eye keeps going there.
That is all, and I really like the shot.

15 Dec 23 Comment Sarita, what a wonderful shot. Beautiful. I love it as is, muted. I am assuming that is a painterly artistic rendering you want. If you want to depict a nature shot, I agree with all Dr Issac said. As to the crop, I like yours but his second crop keeps me more engaged for reasons he states, and also the three birds interact, while the right one is looking away. I think it is a wall hanger. If you do, I would try to get more detail in the birds and leave the rest as is. I am glad to see this shot! Dec 12th
15 Dec 23 Reply Thanks Jim, and a challenge indeed. So many shots get shadows. I cannot possibly take out the shadows on so many shots. I like what you did to mute it, but I wonder how much a problem the shadow is on these type of shots. Many will say the answer is another time of day. lol Dec 12th
15 Dec 23 Reply Ah, very good to know. Dec 3rd
15 Dec 23 Reply Jim, I did see that, and I was thinking that at 1/3000 of a second that would not cause that. I don't know. Dec 3rd
15 Dec 23 Reply Dr Isaac, I believe you are able to add two originals on the side. I would love to see your original of the submitted shot, as it helps me, us, to see your processing and crop selection. That way you can still select the bonus. Dec 3rd
15 Dec 23 Comment Dr Isaac, beautiful owls captured, and your settings were spot on with a wonderful lens. The original pic is not this pic. I would consider a tighter crop. The fuzz on the left is a bit distracting to me as there is not enough to frame the owls. While you are showing the environment, which I also am trying to do, I wonder if a vertical crop might suit better here. Dec 3rd
15 Dec 23 Comment Mike, great colors. Sharp, and a very clean and muted background is pleasing. I generally try to stay away from a shot of a bird moving away from me, but you have the eye and body framed in a way that works. You did great on your goal as the colors are beautiful. Dec 3rd
15 Dec 23 Comment Kathy, a beautiful shot and pose. Maybe it is missing a leg and that is why it is in this park. It's head is perfectly sharp. Background is muted and I like the crop. The orange and blue on it's beak is very well done. Dec 3rd
15 Dec 23 Comment Jim, a great job drawing out the data and rendering a very nice shot. The beak on my computer looks a little soft and I do not know why, as the surroundings are sharp. I like your crop but I would come in from the bottom ever so slightly. Go Cardinals! (I live in St. Louis). Dec 3rd

81 Dec 23 Comment Rose, nicely seen. The original ceiling is much better to me than what was submitted. The bottom you cleaned up well. Most important part of a photograph is the photographer's vision, and you nailed it here. Dec 10th
81 Dec 23 Comment Jo-Ann, what an eerie time that was, and depicted here. I wonder if a horizontal shot showing the empty beach would provide more impact. Beautiful sky, but that is not the subject you want to show. The pic appears a bit blue and more contrast on the lower half of the picture could also bring out the drama. Dec 10th
81 Dec 23 Comment Angela, so creative. Colors are perfect. The arrangement is perfect too. I love the background and base. The arrangement is perfect too as well as the placement. The only thing I suggest is to somehow get the left and right with the same width, as it seems you have more white boarder on the right. Maybe that is on purpose, but I think equal amounts would be perfect. Dec 3rd
81 Dec 23 Comment Ralph, a pretty arrangement. You have a great idea here, but not sure why you did not do any processing, as we can give you feedback. I find the pic a bit dark, and I bet you could make it pop! Dec 3rd
81 Dec 23 Comment Janet, light is "everything" sort of, but without, we have no photo. I love that yellow light after a storm. I would make it a pano too, but you may lose too much definition. Dec 3rd
