Group Round C/R Comment Date Image
15 Aug 23 Comment Kathy, I could not tell you took this picture at the zoo, as it looks natural. And I really like the crop. Overall, it looks a bit dark, and I would brighten up the Bittern and leave the background the way it is. The Bittern would then pop. Aug 6th
15 Aug 23 Comment Sarita, you captured a really good story, and I love the wings with the neck and head position. I can really feel the concentration of the Heron. If you are not entering it in nature competition, I would take out the horizontal bluish lines in the water behind the Heron. If for completion you can tone those down. Aug 6th
15 Aug 23 Comment Linda, you have a nice capture in harsh lighting conditions. I like what you did to simplify the picture. I do find the brightness to be a bit much, and the back of the bird is very bright without detail, but that happens in this situation. I actually like the colors and details in the original better. Good shot. Aug 6th
15 Aug 23 Comment Mike, I love the shot. What a scene you captured. I do like both crops, prob the tighter one better but it does lose definition. Maybe Topaz sharpen would accomplish the task. For me, personally I like more natural colors and this is a bit saturated for me, but the colors are lovely. Aug 6th
15 Aug 23 Comment Jim, you made many good choices. The colors are beautiful and the Cormorant is in a pleasing position portraying its sense of power. One suggestion is to smooth our the water in a elongated triangle in the water in front of the front wing and below the head and neck, as it is a bit rough amidst the smooth water, and bottom right and a bit on the left the water is sharp detracting from the Cormorant. Minor suggestions to a very nice shot. Aug 6th
15 Aug 23 Comment Dr. Isaac, a beautiful moment captured with good perspective. As we are here to make suggestions, I wonder if a bit more on the top and right might make a better balance but I do like what you did. I find the sharpening might be too much or the way it is done as there is hallowing around the edges, especially around the stick and legs. Also, there could be more detail in the feathers, and that might be lacking from denoise. Lovely shot. Aug 6th
15 Aug 23 Reply Ah, I made a boo boo. I took it at 1/2000th of a second. I think that will make more sense to you. Aug 6th

61 Aug 23 Reply Ingrid, I too will miss you and the group. I hope this not to be a goodbye, but a "till later." Be well, and keep up the wonderful work. Aug 17th
61 Aug 23 Reply Thanks David. I love your pics and I will look. Carry on Pro. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Reply I will miss you all too, but I really wanted birds, and when that opened up I took it. Pretty hard for me to do three groups, as I still work. Best you you all!!!!! And you sure challenged me with a "black" shot. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Comment David, you are a master. More I write later. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Reply David, that was not my pic. I do not see my pic in the processed pics. But nice job what you did on someone else's pic. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Comment David, your post processing was very successful. I like you added to the bottom, and you minimized the background and got the lilies to pop and I like the colors. I wonder why the vignetting is out of focus but the inner background is not. Maybe take the entire background into less focus and less saturated. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Comment Ingrid, very creative for a shot that presented many challenges. I like the yellow background and the nine flowers in different perspectives. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Comment Marti, you did a really good job simplifying this image, as so much was there that nothing was popping out. Good colors. I would like to see a bit more on the right and less on top. But you did well. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Comment Linda, you really brought out the colors and cropped it nicely. Not that you should have but you could add some background on the left to balance out the shot. The other thing would be to darken the right green leaf so that it supports the flower itself, as I find my eye to keep going to the bright green. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Comment FYI - the original was the black one, the bottom original pic. You can imagine the difficulty after bringing out the picture itself. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Comment Gene, I like what you did. There is only so much that can be done and you chose wisely. Crop is good and softness is lovely. Well done. Aug 6th
61 Aug 23 Comment David, you are a master. More I write later. Aug 3rd

81 Aug 23 Comment Angela, I would not change a thing. Beautiful and the colors and light is beyond fantastic. I like the off-balance crop, as it adds mystic and a pleasant tension. I like this one better than your submission in Group 20, but that is nice too. If I were to make any suggestion, it would be a reflection on me and not your pic................................... Aug 7th
81 Aug 23 Comment Ralph, you got the shot, and saw how to make a snapshot into a work of art. Brilliant colors and lighting from the post processing you did and blurring out the background. Tells a good story. Very well done. Aug 7th
81 Aug 23 Comment Cheryl, very well-done post processing to make a successful image. You got the three-dimensional look, which is great. You might revisit the upper right and blur and dull that a bit. Not necessary but you might like to do that. Aug 7th
81 Aug 23 Comment Rose, the lens was made for you. A wonderful shot as has been said above. Wonderful details, and a segment of life. Bottom right darken those on the very edge. Minor point. Aug 7th
81 Aug 23 Comment Janet, I love when I see something unexpected like here. Good you got the shot. I agree with the comments above, and I would darken the background as you did not like it blurred. Aug 7th
