81 Mar 22 Comment Cheryl, that is a really well-done portrait. The original is compelling, and you only made it better. Your skill in the skin tone and smoothness is excellent. Good choice on the bottom of the picture, and the white to red for the hat. The picture has a softness to it that fits, a baby softness!!! Mar 8th
81 Mar 22 Comment Brent, I love the adventure, and your capture. The seagulls certainly add context and drama. The colors are very pleasing, and the sun handled well. Framing is well chosen, but watch the cutting off of the birds, as there is one bird wing just on the right edge but no bird, and on the left a bird with a clipped wing - you have on the original the complete bird. I watch these types of edges, and you might take another look at that on this picture. As a side note, I thought that was a person standing there, and good to know it is, and that the person is safe. 81 Mar 22 Comment Janet, a lovely tribute to Leo, a beautiful cat. I love your post processing and composition. Very effective. As to the nose, you can either clone in whatever program allows that for you, or you can use a tiny brush and bring down the exposure. While at it, you can sharpen and brighten along with increased clarity in the eyes. Maybe even soften the nose sharpness so you emphasize the eyes, but you have done very well, and these are subtle suggestions. Mar 6th
81 Mar 22 Reply Thanks. Here is a rendition of the other shot. not the exact shot submitted but a rendition I had at the office and then i had to crop in some to get it small enough to get the image to transfer here. Anyway, you get the drift. Mar 4th
81 Mar 22 Reply Thanks Janet. I took 85 shots early in the morning. This is one of them. I was blessed. Much more than the fish. Timing is so lucky. Also, we have to pull over the side of the road and sometimes the cops assertively tell us to leave. I was indeed lucky here in many respects. I have another I got a first place last night in camera club. I liked this one too for the story. Mar 3rd
81 Mar 22 Comment Noël, love it. Nicely found and seen. What a lens you used! Colors and posture with gesture nice. I would look to crop up quite a bit off the bottom, some on the left, and a lot on the right. To me something more along this line as you might explore has more tension. Mar 3rd
81 Mar 22 Comment Angela, love seeing you are getting outside!!! Love the formation of the three. I like the shadows are different for each of the three geese. Colors are handled well, very pleasing. Details are clear, and the framing is excellent. That said, maybe a smidge more sky under the bottom bird? Not much, just a little. You might try to bring a little more saturation or texture out too. No noise that I see. R6 is excellent camera for that. Settings you used are spot on. !!! Mar 3rd
