Hi Brent,
I have the same camera and lens, and both are great. I like the colors rendered, and the shadow, as I am constantly looking for shadows and reflections. I find the string and knobs taking me away from the subject which I identify as the vase and greenery. As you chose to center the subject, I think that works. If I were framing it, I would want to see what it looks like if I took off a lot of the white on the right and the top, and then look to see about getting the shadow as you have it in on the left but bring up the bottom and get that shadow to align with the corner. Then see if that adds even more interest. Maybe darken the greens too.
All that said, as is, I like it. |

Thanks Brent. You said it well for what I like about it too, like being there. and your comment on the window reflection, that I had not realized till you said it, is an excellent observation. |

Cheryl, what an honor to photograph this baby! I love the little feet sticking out of the blanket. Next, I love the blanket. Now I would find this picture even stronger with separation from the background, be that it be out of focus or a different color. As you use LR, these are easy adjustments in their new version. I would even look to take the background slightly out of focus and also a complimentary color, and I would start with a light blue. But that is me. As it is, this shot would be loved by any parent! |

Noël, a beautiful shot of this beautiful model. Great eyes you drew out. And the skin color is perfect. I might have left a little bit of the hair on the right to frame her face, as it feels a little to me that I am feeling what is to the right in my head, and thus off the picture. I am sure you consider this as you took the shot with hair on the right. I think you could forget, clone out, the diamond stud, so the viewer looks at her only. I like it. |

Janet, very well done and you made really good post processing choices. The face, the face, wow. It feels alive on my screen, as if I could just reach out and touch it. I suggest cloning out the tail shadow, and shadow on the left. but oh my gosh, this is a wonderful shot! |

Angela, the colors are prefect, as well as the framing. The image is appealing and beyond ordinary, actually quite exquisite. The composition is outstanding. I love this shot, and it should be printed and displayed on the wall, many walls. The only suggestions I have can be measured in millimeters; that is, possibly add a millimeter on the left, and subtract a few millimeters off the top. This picture is over the top - a winner in any competition if I were a judge! |
