it does mimic his face and i get that. the colors throughout are wonderful, and the green goes well with the little green thing he has in his hair. wonderful hair he has and you captured. |

Great white balance Pete. you got wonderful colors complimenting this guy, and his hair is awesome, and so wonderfully rendered. You might want to dull down, bring down the highlights of the green that is to his left, so it does not pull the eye away from the guy. Like the crop too, as it gives context, yet keeps the subject. |

Pete, you did wonderfully for this scene, and for hand held, even better. Good choice to clone out the stick and brush at the bottom of the frame. The water is beautiful, and I like the crop. Tiny suggestion to burn down the branch at the top, so it does not draw my eye. I would have liked to see a tiny bit more at the bottom, but both points are minuscule. Beautifully seen, and framed. |

Brent, I like the crop, and the detail. I think you have the technique, and you can get a transgression of the life of a rose. They are beautiful whatever their stage. |

Pete, what do I think? I do like it, played with it, and thought about it. I usually do a tight crop, but here I have been trying to get more context. I am conflicted, as I do like the tighter crop, lean that way, as you modified. As this forum is for feedback, I left it less cropped, and asked and hoped others would make comment. You have and I appreciate your input. I need to give it time, as I do in a firm way agree with the framing you did. What is like is it is simpler, and I see the cigarette and her expression better. Much appreciated. Thanks. |

Funny Angela. At first I thought that the picture was the guy, till I read the title. Excellent title, and now I get it. Nicely seen. I find the vertical being off distracting, and I would straighten the vertical, and add contrast, and deepen the blacks, and bring out the whites, as it appears in the mid-tone grey. There is a little white line on the right and I would clone that out, but it might just go away upon straightening the vertical if you were to do that. And I would crop up from the bottom, as that little lip is a detraction, but leaving and making the horizontal edge is a very compelling leading line supporting the picture. His expression is definitely clear that he "is not looking." Tells a nice and respectful story. |

Bonné, a lovely shot, and great composition. I love the pose, and the head turn. Maybe it's my eyes, but it seems a little soft. If you agree, you can probably sharpen it. The background is perfect. Excellent. |

Cheryl, what a place to shoot. I like the framing. I would consider more contrast, and bringing down the highlights on the lighthouse, as I bet you can get some really nice detail. I think it leans a little to the right, and you can straighten that. I like the darker cloud above and to the right of the lighthouse. Nice. |

Angela, thanks. You are spot on. I never even saw the door lock plate as bright, but as you point it out, I see that and agree. I also agree that I see the scene, take the time to assess it, and I appreciate the cigarette smoking comment, as that was a possibility not seen. Two out of two. And I am glad you support the framing..........:) |
