Thanks Cheryl, comments you make are insightful and inspiring. As I took more pictures (and I think after this day of shooting), I did move to a zone focus that tracks within the zone, and that helped. I did not know that about bird photographers, so I will keep doing that. And i am learning that eye has to be 100%, not just close. I have others with a sharper head and eye, but i liked this wingspan too. |

Janet, same here. I always seemed too far away, fumbling with my camera, tripod, lenses, and filters. Here I had opportunity, and time. I look forward to other opportunities. Thx. |

Brent, what a wonderful find. I don't think i have ever seen a red Dragonfly. Nice shot with the limitations you described taking the shot. |

Ok,now Good Morning. What I like. The creativity is outstanding, as well as the execution of photoshop. I liked reading the explanation, as that was helpful. I really like the broken egg, its transparency, and its placement, as it brings the viewer into the across the picture. Colors are good and spot on. I like the towel folds and shadows. Very interesting facial expressions. I like your hand and the anticipation of the fear expression on the egg in hand.
What you might consider is transforming the background to make it straight, or flat, as it is angled from left to right taking me out of the picture rather than hold me in the picture. That is my strongest suggestion. A really tough cut on the hand, but I think you handled it well. Perhaps a little dark on the right bottom of the towel, but not sure you can do anything with that, as it does keep the viewer in the main part of the pic by keeping it dark, but you might lighten it up for that part that is in the pic and not part of the edge fold of the towel. Towel may be a little bright right under the two bottom eggs, as my eye goes there, so you might want to see if you can lower hightlights there, and then pic a central egg that you want to be the highlight and lighten that egg. But very subtle, and just something else I see being very picky. Translucence of the broken egg and yoke are the highlights to me, as it is wonderfully handled. A creativity I am not capable of, so kudos to you! |

Thanks. I do believe you are correct as to the sharpness of the feet verses head. Saw that subconsciously before you mentioned it, and it is always great to get such feedback. To get the shot is so difficult, but now I know, and look forward to increasing my f stop to obtain greater sharpness. Much appreciated. |
