Thx Sandy. Yes, natural light. I was lucky to be there, and had a moment to capture the shot. I love when natural light makes a pic, as nothing is like it. |

Well seen and i can feel the music, thus this is an appealing shot. I like the monotone palate you chose. Seems like the critical focus is on the saxophone, and the rest seems a little soft. I like the shot, and would try to bring out the eyes a little better, lighter. Also, either darken or clone out the arm on the right. Yet, overall a very pleasing and lovely detail captured. |

Fun. What a fun shot with wonderful colors. Pleasing colors and I like the color combinations and how the colors intermix. I suggest you use the horizontal correction and make the horizontal line straight across, and Check to make sure the glasses are perfectly vertical so as to get the pic framed the way i think you are presenting. Even if you find that does not work as well, this is a beautiful shot. |

What a wonderfully fully focused shot, including the front foot. One can feel the tension. And you got his face, and you have great dimension and perspective. A really nice capture. I agree as to the mat emblem being removed, in my opinion. The only other suggestion would be too tone down the wall on the right to match the wall on the left, or at least take down its brightness. nice. |

Thanks Brent. I agree. I struggled with facial skin color, and the natural lighting and shadows was a challenge. Thanks for the comments. |

i like it, and it is very appealing. black and white works well too, as there are so many patterns and angles. i personally would like to see more contrast, more blacks and whites, or shadows will bring out the depth and differentiation of patterns. a wonderful image, and i also like that the ground is out of focus in a good way, at the bottom right. |

i love the subdued colors, they are subtly beautiful, as the pic gives a very peaceful presence, as if i were there, wishing i was there. the trees to the right with the sun coloring them is very appealing. and you handled the sun and exposure well. might consider cloning in some of the same scene in the bottom left, or try to crop those out. just a consideration. |

Great idea, and love the subject, background, and lighting. love the sharpness and crispiness on the left and would love to see - but so hard to do - that same sharpness and clarity on the rest of the subject. very appealing way you have angles and how it leans in towards the left. i do like the creativity of the boarder, works here. bright and lively, uplifting, and i like it. I think you picked on purpose, or by intuition, a wonderful healing shot, and an image of strength -reminding me of a face with a hat, and something to communicate, making a statement. |

good question, and and simple and complex. I am at my office and looking at two un-calibrated screens. I do not use these monitors for my pics, but it is what i am looking at now. My calibrated screen is at my house, so on the calibrated screen it looks muted and much better, and it also depends on brightness of the screen........ah............... |

you know your comments are spot on. I printed this for submission to competition for a week from now. glad the face is clear enough, but maybe not for competiton. i know it will be an issue. As the the background, i completely agree and the funny thing is on the print it is beyond muted, very dark, as those things are bright here. i also have two screens, calibrated differently, one it is dark, one bright. Low down the print is muted a lot. and you are spot on and i appreciate your comments! |
