Very nice shot! Everything looks OK to me, except I would try to use the LR brush to lighten up the shadow across the bird's head as much as possible. Thanks. |

Hi Rich, heartwarming image any way you slice it. You make a good point about the importance of telling a story in wildlife photography. That's one thing I have learned from this group. I too take a lot of shots where there is basically no story - butterflies, perched birds, insects, flowers etc. I get a lot of satisfaction out of processing the images into something that is beautiful (to me at least). It's very challenging for me to get wildlife shots that tell a story. I think you've got a good one here. So to me the choice is maximum beauty vs telling the story. IMO your image showing the fawns in their natural environment helps tell the story. |

Nice shot taken at just the right moment. IMO there is too much water and too little bird. And the bird is squarely in the center of the image. So if the image can stand it, crop some more and allow more space in front of the bird than behind. Thanks. |

Wonderful image. The trees are a unique and very beautiful subject. Reflections, warm tones - what more can anyone ask. |

Well Larry I never pictured you as one of those wild-eyed rule breakers, but must admit that you are a good egg (get it?) for helping that turtle. And I have no room to criticize - I should be in jail for what I've done to the Rule of Thirds. Interesting shot and love your commentary as usual. The subject was not at eye level, but then you couldn't have seen the eggs. Another rule broken. Oh my! |

Hey Susan, I love this photo! I would crop to leave more room in front of the bird, as Cindy did. And mask out the bird, sharpen it up and reduce the highlights just a wee bit. But I do like the high-key look of the background. Some might say it's distracting, but those colors are simply wonderful IMO and give the image a great over-all look. I don't know which processing software you are using, but all is easily done in Lightroom. |

Haha...here in Arkansas we have to be careful about dipping our feet in the water. Could lose a toe! If I had been toting my Kodak Brownie I would also have declined to take this shot - don't want to waste film. But since the digital revolution I will shoot anything and everything. For example, I have a very nice collection of wildlife scat (turd) images of which I am very proud. Ah the wonders of the modern world! |

Yep, this is what brown pelicans look like when they get all the way up to Arkansas. ;) |
