Thanks. I like this crop. So many good options for this image. That's the "thing" about Galapagos. Wonderful images everywhere you look! |

Yes I like this. I am starting to feel the presence of Ansel. Those streaks in the clouds, could that be precipitation such as rain or even hail? Please say "yes". It adds to the story. |

Yes I agree with Larry. Add contrast, also clarity, set the white and black points. Also, I would crop some off the sky. You might try selecting the "sky" mask in LR and add more contrast and lower highlights a bit to give it more drama (but don't overdo it!). Thanks. |

Luminar 4 is one of those "AI" programs that is stand-alone. I use it only secondary to Lightroom. If I'm not satisfied after initial processing, I transfer to Luminar and let it work its magic. It's fast and highly automated and often improves the image. Transfers back and forth to LR much like Photoshop. |

Richard this sounds so familiar. You have expressed the problems and frustrations I face every time I try to shoot birds. I like the way you processed, giving the image the look of a bird in the deep woods with soft light. I think a little cropping would help the image. So I downloaded your image and cropped, and softened the background a bit. |

Yep I agree that it's a rather busy image. Larry's crop included the two best parts - the sun coming out from the clouds and the frigatebird. But I liked the other parts as well, and I like a wide panorama look. So I like both and can have them both thanks to the magic of modern photography! |

Hi Larry, yep the bird looks artificial and overprocessed. And Luminar 4 has a fake sky that looks a lot like the one in this image. Mind you, I'm not making any accusations! I can't comment on the new LR feature because my computer is too old to handle it. But it's a very interesting and well composed image. I hope this final comment helps you recover from my harsh review. ;) |

Hi Cindy. A sharp and beautiful photo. I like the woodpecker, but look at all those honeybees in good sharp focus! Image looks well balanced to me and I wouldn't have cropped it any differently. You might could have gotten by with a lower shutter speed to reduce ISO, but the image appears noise free, so no problem. |

Hi Susan, that's a lovely family shot. The image looks very contrasty to me, so I would try lowering the contrast and the highlights and lightening up the shadows. I think there is extra space (water) that you really don't need, so crop some off the left side and top.. I like the green floating vegetation down in the corner - not distracting to me and it shows some of the environment. Thanks for posting. |
