Thanks for the comment. Gonna fix the halo and lighten up a bit on the raindrops. |

I was attempting to create an interesting effect with the raindrops in the negative space. Considering your and others comments, I might have over-done it a bit. Thanks!! |

That's a good alternative crop for this image. I was trying to create an interesting effect in the negative space on this one. Thanks!! |

You sure caught a good action shot. As pointed out, there's not enough room in front of the vulture to give the image good balance. I didn't know about the photoshop fix Larry suggested, but that's the only kind of thing you could do to fix it. |

Hi Larry, great shot and interesting little bird. Nice and sharp and the image gives one an idea of typical habitat in the open areas. I'll bet the little ones are really something to see after they first start venturing out of the burrows. |

Hi David, I definitely like the softer look. And the lines and colors are awesome! Put this one on the wall in your ultra-modern penthouse. |

Hey Richard. Very nice! I especially like the golden reflections in the water. The processing you did looks good to me. Only suggestion I would make is to crop off the bottom to just above that clump of grass on the lower left. To me, that dark foreground doesn't do much for the image. And the cropping will give it a more panoramic view, which I think would be good. Thanks. |

Yes you guys are correct. I made adjustments to the background to better show the raindrops, and there is some halo on the wing and tail. Need to fix that. But what might appear to be a halo on the flight feathers at the end of the wing is the sun showing through the haze. |

Gorgeous photo and good crop. The pink in the background is not too bad. You could try desaturating it a little and maybe darkening the background just a tiny bit. In Lightroom I would use the new "object" mask and choose "invert" to get that done. I tried it quick and dirty - not sure it's any better. Nice photo. |

Considering my past transgressions I'm in no position to criticize anyone for over-cropping. But I do think less cropping would show more context. In fact, I really like the original. What a thrill it must have been to witness that scene. I downloaded the original, cropped it a bit and worked the sliders in Lightroom. I know this might change the subject a bit, since it's about the crossing scene rather than focusing exclusively on the croc, but I find this to be a fascinating photo. Great capture! |
