Thanks to all for the comments. Take-aways:get rid of the stick and tone down the background. Can do! |

I think that's the tangle of vegetation in the background, at various distances from the subject. |

Hey Rich, very sharp and clean for such a big crop. I like the side profile of the birds, but they look a little awkwardly posed, leaning in opposite directions and sitting at different levels. Also there are some strong shadows that makes the image look harsh. I might try lightening up the shadows and maybe reducing the contrast a bit. I would reduce the crop a good bit to show much more room in the direction the birds are looking. The image overall is cropped too tight IMO. Thanks for giving me something to write about. |

This one was definitely worth saving because of the tension shown between the two cubs. and the great color. and the beautiful cubs. I might have tried cropping a little closer. There is a grassy area just below the bears that is a little lighter and in good focus - cropping out the grass below that might be a good idea. Then crop slightly on the right to bring the image back into good balance. Also wondering if the noise in the original could have been reduced by using a slower shutter speed. |

Wow, what drama! I think you made a good choice to make this one black and white. Good job of bringing out the detail and contrast in the clouds. As far as composition, the image seems truncated to me on the left side. I think a more panoramic view would be better. Regardless, good photo! |

Hi Larry, good action showing the baby birds thrashing around. Good pose. A little tighter shot might be OK, but I like including that mud nest. I noticed the excellent eye reflection, but wondered about lack of feather detail. |

This is an awesome shot! It perfectly captures the mad rush of the animals crossing the river. And the one suspended in mid-air - amazing. The story here is so strong that making a few minor improvements won't matter. Good as is!! |
