Thanks Frank. I like the black and white treatment, especially this darker one. It really shows the magical quality of the water. |

Love those Smoky Mountain streams. I like the way the stream leads your eye to the bright foliage. Well done. |

The skulking pose is so typical of the green heron. Personally I like the background as-is. The image was shot late in the afternoon with warm brilliant colors on a bright cloudless day. Looks good to me.

Thanks to all for the comments. I agree totally with the suggested crop and brightening up the image. I actually brightened it some from the original, but see now that it needed more. I didn't mention that a polarizing filter was attached to the lens (I don't have any ND filters) which darkened the image somewhat. Larry, no I did not carry my tripod. After seeing your image from last month, where you used a platypod, I finally got one - been looking at them for years. I have decided to use one instead of a tripod where much hiking is involved. If I can't set it on a boulder, log or strap it on something I'll just sit and enjoy the view. |

What a concept! Instead of going to the subject, let the subject come to you. Can I get that to work for waterfalls? This is a beautiful shot. The soft colors are rendered just right. The background is beautiful with soft bokeh. The eye is sharp and feather detail is OK. Well done IMO. |

I love this shot. Good composition with the baby's face in the upper quarter. Shows activity (eating). Rendering the image in black and white is a good choice in my opinion. In Lightroom I would use the adjustment brush to bring down the highlights in lower right corner, and maybe add a slight vignette to the image. |

That's an absolutely gorgeous bird. If I didn't know better I would have thought the colors had been altered in Photoshop. I like the in-flight pose. I totally agree with the others about the replaced sky. Original two looks just fine. I might try sharpening up the bird a bit and lightening the shadows. Nice image! |
